I’m giving a soft review because I realize that it is their soft opening, that being said, I thought the overall experience was fine to say the least.
Ordering/service: walking in, we were told we would expect a 30 minute wait because we had not reserved, we were sat immediately, and proceeded to sit for the 30 minute wait which is fine, but the restaurant wasn’t really all that busy in my eyes (i work in food service). the server we had was okay, it wasn’t terrible but it seemed like she was all over the place and stressed. She forgot our utensils which she quickly fixed when we told her, but with the doorbell type ringer we had to use to call her over, she didn’t seem to pay attention much to it when we rang two separate times so another server came over and helped us out.
Food: I ordered the Tteokbokki with ramen and It was good but not better than others that I’ve had, I think I should have ordered a higher spice level and that would have made it more tasty. My brother ordered the boneless wings with sweet and spicy regular and it was delicious. The outside was nice and crispy, the sauce was great although I think that it should be labeled mild since I didn’t taste any spice. We also ordered kimchi fries and the were the BOMB. Comparable to Austin’s Chilantro.
drinks: I will say that for soda, they do give you cans so you do not have free refills, so if you’re someone who drinks a lot in one sitting, I would just stick with a water. Speaking of water, the water is given in a container where you pour it yourself and I honestly think it’s very efficient. One thing I was really disappointed in was the fact that they were not serving boba yet, though I can’t blame them because it was their soft opening.
Atmosphere: I loved the atmosphere! I enjoy kpop so most of my time spent there was listening to the music and watching various kpop MVs they had playing on TVs around the establishment.
Overall: I don’t have a definite answer on how they will proceed to do since they have not yet come into full swing, but I will be sure to visit again in a month to see how things...
Read moreStopped by on a whim and my friends recent mention of a Korean Corn Dog, so we wanted to see if they served them. They do! Also shockingly this place is super chill and a great young vibe to hangout with friends, enjoy some food and generally relax. It wasn’t intense or particularly loud, the staff was friendly and it was a great atmosphere. They serve water in jugs with little cups which was kind of fun and I appreciated not having to ask for refills.
We simply ordered the Kimchi Fries & the Korean Hotdog with potato and both were delicious, especially the kimchi fries really impressed, perfectly spicy and tangy with cilantro to mellow the flavors. Truly and excellent dish at a fair price too. The same with the corn dog, I thought it had a bit of an odd batter flavor but it was still super enjoyable.
Really excited about this place, feels like an undiscovered gem, quietly sitting in the background however it’s a great spot to be at. Driven past it hundreds of times and never gave it much thought but I am glad I did.
Side note, I didn’t try the fried chicken but by appearance only it looks super crispy and appetizing.
Prices could get pretty high but for what we got I was satisfied with the price I paid....
Read moreThe vibe is very much late night korean bar food. The service is inconsistent and hard to get what you request without waiting between each one or asking multiple times.
The food is what's keeps me going back. I've gotten the chicken buldak each time I've gone. I've also tried their tofu ganjeong and their kimchi fries.
I liked the tofu, but the sauce is too sweet. I wish they had just a savory flavor option, too. I didn't appreciate they charged $1.25 for some gochujang on the side. If I had known, I wouldn't have asked for any.
I think the kimchi fries is an interesting fusion dish. The sauce was unique, and the cilantro and flavor combination gave me a banh mi flavor profile. The fries were a bit cold and stale, so 3/5 for taste. I wish they had cheese, but it doesn't say it anywhere on the menu, so wishful thinking on my part.
The chicken buldak is great portioned cubes of chicken, sauce, mozzarella cheese is yummy it would be nice if they added some cabbage or veggies for added dimension to the dish.
If you don't mind the noise and the wait, this is by far the only korean street food option in Killeen and neighboring area that provides...
