My family will NEVER return to Cash Pro Pawn. The owners are money hungry and sell faulty items as brand new! Bought a keyboard that was reportedly "brand new", although owner could not find the box, instructions, or warranty information. That should have been a red flag, but I trusted the establishment and made the purchase anyway.
I began playing at home and noticed that the volume was extremely low, even on the highest setting. When my daughters and I played a 3-part song, we noticed that the f key faded in and out. The item obviously had technical issues. My husband, trying to fix the problem so we wouldn't have to return it, bought an amp and connection cord from them (that owner said would work for that particular keyboard). Unfortunately, it didn't and we had to buy one from a different store. The amp crackled and popped and on the 3rd day, my family decided to return everything and buy brand new elsewhere.
My husband called the pawn shop to inform them, but the owner, Cheryl, who is the ONLY person at their store that can deal with returns, was not available. The next morning, we arrived when the store opened. Immediately we are told that she is not there and won't be until lunchtime. We call after lunch and am put on hold indefinitely - she never comes to the phone. We drive back to the store and still she is not there. When she arrived, she evaded us at first, knowing the reason for our presence. Her employee had to get her to come over to the counter where we were standing. When she finally approached us, she flat-out refused to give back our money, saying we had the items for 4 days and basically...Oh well! Tough luck! Her attitude was condescending and her demeanor unfriendly.
I informed her that I knew the item was NOT brand new as reported. It was sold under false pretenses and was broken at the time of purchase. She quipped, "Didn't you try it out in the store?" Yes, yes I did, but I didn't sit down and play a full concert - I trusted their word! The item was faulty from the start and SHE DID NOT CARE that she ripped off a good customer. She also kept repeating, "It was a floor model".
The owner mentioned store credit and asked if there was anything else I needed. I said, "How about jewelry?" Cheryl quickly changed her mind, went back on her word, and said she couldn't do that. I asked, "You're the owner, aren't you?" She said that didn't matter.
So, she told me my only choice was to SELL the broken item back TO HER for MUCH LESS than my purchase price (which was for a BRAND NEW keyboard, not a used one). Her reasoning? According to her, the keyboard was no longer brand new - it was now USED since I had it for several days and therefore, she couldn't return my money. No matter what I said, she justified and twisted it and tried to make me feel as if I did something wrong.
This business woman simply did not CARE about the situation or that I'd been done wrong by her business practices. She was greedy and didn't think ahead that happy customers return to buy more items for years AND tell their friends! In the recent past, I bought a guitar pack for my youngest daughter and a mandolin and record player for my oldest. We had spent hundreds of dollars there in the past month!
She also refused to return my money for the connection cord because the package was opened. Yet, her husband said the product would work with the keyboard they sold me. Again, not our fault. We trusted them.
Cheryl kept repeating, "Nothing I do will make you happy." YES, SOMETHING would! Being FAIR and HONEST! Even a positive attitude and respect would have helped!
BE VERY WARY of this pawn shop! They will rip you off and NOT care about it in the least. My family will never return and will warn others about the unjust practices of the owners.
And by the way, the employees are fabulous; it's the husband and wife owner team that are corrupt. Two of the employees told me they were sorry that this happened and were sympathetic, but their...

Read moreI brought my son here to pick out his very first guitar and I didn't catch his name but the younger guy with tattoos and who was wearing a beenie was great! He showed my son a variety of good beginner guitars. I gave him my budget and he didn't try to push me to get anything I didn't want. Stayed at my budget and hooked my son all the way up with everything he needed and made his first time buying a guitar a great experience! Thank you so...
