The Sweet Station — Restaurant in Kings Mountain

I really want to like this place. They have a decent selection of sweet treats. But the service just hasn’t been good, and the treats have disappointed on taste. On May 26, 2024, it took forever to get a staff member to give us a sample or two of ice cream flavors. They seemed annoyed we wanted to try a flavor and wanted to rush us to order. The Butterfinger ice cream I ended up getting had a weird banana taste to it, the cone was stale, and I’ve felt funny since I ate it. We’ve tried baked goods too. They were okay but unspectacular. Some of the items, like cheesecake slices, are overpriced when compared to the same type selections at other dessert shops in our region. The space is big and includes an outdoor seating area, but none of it is that inviting. Discovered this amazing spot today and can’t wait to go back! The coffee was made just right—rich, delicious, and absolutely satisfying. The selection of baked goods was incredible—not just the usual cookies and cakes, but unique treats like cream horns, cannolis, buckeyes, cheesecake, and more! Plus, the portions were HUGE!

My son and I decided on a 7-layer bar and an Oreo brownie, and both were phenomenal! After grabbing our treats, we settled in and picked one of the many games available—we went with Clue. It was such a fun and relaxing experience to enjoy our desserts while playing together.

The atmosphere here is fantastic—welcoming, cozy, and perfect for unwinding. And of course, great service makes all the difference. The young woman who served us and the gentleman (possibly the owner or manager?) were both absolutely wonderful!
