DO NOT PURCHASE WEDDING GOWNS FROM Annie's Room Bridal and Formal in Kingsport, TN. I’ve had a nightmare of an experience and have learned that several other brides in our area are going through the same over the last few weeks. To put it simply: Don’t believe the reviews. It seems things have gone off the rails. I purchased my dream dress and paid in full in February 2023. The date in which the dress was to arrive came and went with no contact from the shop. I called on multiple occasions and left numerous messages. When I’d actually catch someone at the shop their excuse for no answer, no response was “it’s the busy season with prom and home coming.” Excuse me? I paid almost $3k for a WEDDING dress and you can’t even call me back. After weeks and weeks of a promised delivery it became obvious that my dress was never ordered. When I began to inquire about a tracking # for the shipment I got another round of lies and run around. My wedding is 9/9 and as of 8/24 still no dress but plenty of promises that it’d be here in a “couple of days”. I went to the shop in person to demand a refund on 8/25 and was given a check that upon attempting to cash was found to be bad. The owner continued with her lies when confronted about the lack of funds to cash a check that she gave me that morning. It took threatening a police report to get my money back. The owner sited numerous personal issues as the reason that my dress never got ordered. I’m not a heartless person but all of her reasons happened in July/August so no excuse for not ordering a dress I paid for in February. Previously I have went to Annie’s Room and got a prom dress and had a great experience. Recently I went to Annie’s room to try on wedding dresses. I am getting married in May, and while I know that is close, I didn’t expect to get treated the way I did. I was rudely informed that I would not be able to order a dress or get any alterations. I was told that would have to buy one right off the floor. The girl that was my “stylist” wasn’t very helpful at all. She didn’t ask my dress size but she did ask me my limit and told me she would show me the dresses that were in that limit but never did. They didn’t have a big selection but I did choose probably about 10 dresses. After I tried on a couple dresses, the stylist told me that she gave another client my dresses to try on and when she was finished my maid of honor could go pick out the dresses I chose that I hadn’t tried on yet. The stylist also was not very nice to the girls from my bridal party saying that they usually don’t let anyone back there to try on dresses but since I was a bride she was being more lenient. They had some pretty dresses but all around I wouldn’t go back if I ever needed a formal dress for...

If it were possible to leave 0 stars then I would. So I’m getting married in August of this year. I came in for my appointment at 2:30pm. There were two older women running the front desk and they were so rude! When I say rude I mean rude, rolling their eyes every time I picked a dress I liked. They constantly kept trying to get me to try on dresses that were literally half my size. ( I’m a plus size girlie) I wear a size xl in most dresses. They pulled dresses that were sizes 1, size 5, and a size 8. While I know that most dress shops have to order your size they still clearly had sizes that would have fit me better because I went and looked myself in the exact dresses they had pulled. So I actually find a dress that I loved and then asked about lay away. Apparently that has changed as well, they don’t do that any longer and they asked why I would be shopping for a wedding dress if I wasn’t prepared to pay for it that day. Like excuse me?
