Five Below — Local services in Kingsport

I love this place! I see a lot of mixed ratings in the reviews. I thought i’d clear it up with my own experience. This 5 below has always been very friendly to me and I love going here. There is a lady there who LOVES when I bring my puppy in. My puppy loves the attention and is most welcomed by the staff here. They always have cute little things that you can find any use for at all. On top of being amazing for my puppy, I just had my ears pierced here on Saturday. The lady who did them was gentle, kind, descriptive, and overall amazing. She was very in detail about everything and comforted me through the whole experience. I’d also like to add for the people commenting “10 below”, have you been to the dollar tree lately? It stated its own section of “Dollar Tree Plus” where items are $5 to $25 sometimes even. This store has a sign for its items that are more pricey. This gives you the option to find better things at a good deal for over $5. I see nothing wrong with that or what the dollar tree is doing. It is simply giving you a section of options, but you don’t want to talk about how the rest of the store is actually $5 and below….that’s funny. So, don’t pay attention to those who aren’t reading the section for above $5 pricing. This store is $5 and below, just with an add section for more. If you’ve been to Five Below before it’s no different than any other time. Better stuff which is wonderful, I just don’t love that the employees check you out at the self checkout instead of you actually self checking out. I understand the premise of wanting to make sure someone doesn’t steal, but just put back the regular checkouts. There’s still only 1 employee to check you out and 1 register used at a time. Inefficient time management. I couldn’t leave a review because the employee did it for me because they had to check me out and do the entire process for me, and this is the only way I could figure out to leave an actual review for someone to see in their staff. The place itself is nice and they’re getting better stuff which is amazing, and the employee was nice, but I just think whoever owns or manages the store needs to see that they just need to put back regular cash registers and that their method isn’t satisfactory to the customers. It does no different having an employee check you out at self checkout than to just have a cashier present and checking you out. Please put cash registers and cashiers back...

To some people this may seem like it's my fault & thts fine so be it, I went there on Saturday to do some shopping because I haven't been there in 2 or 3 years mind you I had no idea that they had switched to self-checkout the lady help me check my stuff out she took my money and put it in the machine as I was talking to her she let me walk away and never one time said ma'am you forgot your change and I just got through telling her that I hadn't been there in years and I didn't know that they were officially a self-checkout I go back and ask about my change and she proceeds to tell me that that's not her problem that I should have been paying more attention I'm sorry some of that may have been my fault I admit that but if you're going to be responsible enough to take my money and put it in the machine then you should have been responsible enough to help make sure that I got my change all I'm saying is I feel like it was kind of rude and messed up that she didn't acknowledge her part in tht...
