Today will be my last day visiting this store. The shortages during the beginning of the pandemic were understandable.... but the shortages have continued for 2 years! Who is managing this place? Regardless of the day of the week I visit I experience shortages or sold out conditions for: Half and half Paper products Canned meats Canned soups Chopped meats Diced vegetables Baby powder And CANNED CAT FOOD! To mention just a few of the frustrating attempts to fill my shopping list. In my business, if I see a product is selling briskly, if I see the shelf is bare on a regular basis, I start to order larger amounts. MILK for example. Am I to believe that the manager of this store doesn't notice that the milk section is empty every morning? Am I supposed to stand around waiting for a delivery? Dont these managers go to school to learn their job? This store is a mere shadow of what it was in 2019. When I go to other stores to get the milk and meat and cat food I can't find here, the shelves are OVERFLOWING with a wide selection of products...just like the good old days before Covid 19. What is wrong with the Kinnelon store??? I'm tired of complaining to check out women and leaving the place frustrated and angry. I'm tired of needing to go to another town and another store to get my supplies. I'm through. This place needs new management or to be taken over by Shop Rite. It won't see me or my 200 bucks a...
Read moreWe shop here approximately once per week. It is the closest store to our home, replaced the Pathmark store in 2014, I believe. (Not sure of the date). It is clean, the produce is fresh, and the staff is friendly. The prices are moderate. I have friends who shop only at Shop Rite, but Shop Rite is not close to our home, and when we've tried SR, we found that the prices are about the same. However, to be honest, there are items we do not buy in S & S (paper products, etc.) because we are members at our local BJ's, and we buy our paper products there. 7/28/19: I am editing my review, because we've become disappointed with this store. The produce is disappointing, especially the greens. The milk and milk products are on a refrigerated shelf, but has no door to keep the products cold. We've noticed therefore, that even though the milk product has not passed the expiration date, the milk sours much quicker than milk that is purchased in a store that keeps such products behind doors. It is disappointing that, in a community such as ours, this is the only neighborhood grocery store nearby. When we first moved into the area in the 1970's, we had three grocery stores to choose from. We now only have this one, Bj's, and a Target with a small grocery area. Instead, we are plagued with Quick Check on almost...
Read moreWarmest milk in town. In their open, doorless, flapless "cooler", there's no way it's below 40. I don't even think it's below 45, the NJDOH maximum - and that's supposed to be in the warmest part of the fridge. That would be the milk that's up front, and it is pretty much at room temperature since there is nothing separating it from the actual room. It turns waaay before the date on the jug. If simple food safety protocols are not followed right out there in the open, then what's it like behind the scenes? Lame produce too... Want a mango that will never ripen and turn black before it turns sweet? Then buy it from here. It's OK to pull out a knife, taste the fruit as the delivery truck is opened, and send it all back if it's unsellable garbage. I actually think it's kind of a store's duty to their customers. At best, people around here merely tolerate this store because any alternatives are much further away. Shortcomings aside, I have a thumbs up to the floor staff / check-out people who are generally good folks and pleasant to...
