Belk — Local services in Kinston

The workers here are friendly but prices are absolutely ridiculous. Their mark ups are insane and very few items are worth what the cost is. For instance I was just in looking at the STEAM projects for my son. I had already purchased one of them brand new from Wal-Mart previously. I believe the Wal-Mart price was $25 - $30. Belks claimed they were "on sale", however the Belks price was closer to $60 or $70, so that even their "sale" price was more expensive than the item actually costs anywhere else. Many items are marked way up like this to make people think they're getting a deal when in reality the store just puts an insane price on it to begin with. I spent most of my trip into Belk shaking my head while I researched each item online on other stores. I did find 2 Christmas gifts for family members that had decent prices, but 2 things out of an entire store of items is laughable at best. I think I'll just stick to online shopping when it comes to finding "higher end" items, because Belks is not the place to be...
