Fair Tide — Local services in Kittery

I love Fair Tide. First I know the owner and you couldn't ask for anyone better or nicer or friendlier. She is the best and always greets you with a warm welcome and a smile. That goes a long way. Now for the store. Awesome!! I always find something I need and at a very affordable price. And I always find something I didn't know I needed as well. Her half price, last Saturday of the month is the best deal in town. Don't miss it--- definitely worth the visit. Some nice items and a decent shopping atmosphere as long as you don't pass out from sticker shock. It is jam packed with stuff but that is probably due to their full blown retail prices. They make Goodwill and Savers seem like bargain basement pricing! It is too bad places don't realize they will make more money/attract more customers/clear out more merch if they priced items to move. I prefer to support smaller non profits and keep money in the community but the prices here are ridiculous. They run half off after a month but even then, the prices are too high. Use to be a good place to get treasures and jewelry reasonable, Now you don't even see them. This shop now posts on Posh Mark, Ebay, Mecari and FB. (as told by employee) Why are they called a non profit thrift store when the better stuff doesn't even go into the store for sale?? Recently they had a box of silver plate being held but not going out for sale! Why? If your looking for the usual clothing, housewares, books etc. It's Not a bad place to shop. If your treasure hunting move on to the next shop. No true bargains...
