Altar'd State West Town Mall — Local services in Knoxville

I’ve been going to altar’d state since I was in high school when the one in turkey treek first started. They always wanted to sell the whole Christianity thing with very cute boutique clothing. And it really once was that very thing. But as it has grown and commeralized I find that they hire young girls that have bad attitudes (not the Christians that once used to work at the old store). I recently got that from their MANAGER who accused me (the customer) of being rude when I was asking questions. Maybe she was having a bad day or something and I’m understanding of that but when it’s the manager you expect them to perform at a higher level under stress. I won’t go into my whole experience that I have had previously in the same store last year, but it just seems that this keeps happening at the Knoxville location (never the turkey creek one). Poor management. Was looking to buy one of their beautiful glittering expensive gowns for Christmas, but I’m thinking maybe Dillard’s would be a better...

I’ve talked to a couple of people who feel the same, but having a whole separate “store” right beside the bigger altar’d State for plus size clothes is not as inclusive as people think. Really what stores need to do is just make bigger sizes of the clothes they already have. Plus size sections in stores are always some itty bitty section and not the same selection as if bigger people don’t want to wear the same styles. They also tried way too hard with the sizing. Standard sized S-XL are labeled that in the regular store, but they tried to be “inclusive” again and have the sizes labeled “beautiful” “captivating” etc. it’s just an odd set up that several people have told me that feel they just missed the idea here. Excellent service! I ordered items online and needed to exchange for a different size. I emailed customer service about it and they responded promptly. They let me know I could just exchange my items in the store if I didn't want to mail them back. So I called the store and "Molly" answered the phone and helped me. She went above and beyond contacting the other store to ensure that the size I needed in those items would be put on hold for me. She even called me back as a courtesy to let me know Turkey Creek had what I needed and it was already on hold for me! Any other place would've just told me to contact the other store myself.
