This was only the 2nd dirt track I've ever been to, and it was SO MUCH NICER than the one I normally go to! We sat up top, and you still could feel the dirt flying (my favorite part of the sprint car experience), but it wasn't dusty like it is at the other track I've been to. Different types of dirt, and a lot more water. Seats were pretty nice as we're used to sitting on concrete or broken wood boards at the tracks we go to. These are metal bleachers with backs on them and each seat has a number. It wasn't full the night we went, so it didn't matter too much if we were actually in our seats or not. On nights when they are full, I'm sure it's a less enjoyable experience bc of how close those seats are supposed to be. It looked like only one concession stand was actually inside of the stadium, so you had to have your ticket to leave unless you just wanted beer. Make sure you have your ticket so they can scan you out and then back in. They don't do stamps like everywhere else I've been. A great place for family fun. We enjoyed it and will hopefully be...
Read moreI've lived in Knoxville most of my life. The "fastest half-mile on dirt" is a sprint car lover's paradise. It's fast, loud (ear protection suggested), dirty, and action packed. So it's everything that makes dirt track racing fun including the really good burrito bowls served under the grandstands on the Southwest corner of the track near turn 4. Oh, and beer. If you only go one place in your life to experience everything there is to experience in dirt track racing this is the place. And before, after, and during the race don't forget the world famous Dingus (tavern) across the street to the East of the track. It's a tradition that you shouldn't miss. I should mention that although my focus is more on adult fun, it's a safe carnival type experience with lots of security so it's family and kid friendly. If nothing else take the family to the sprint car hall of...
Read moreFirst time there. What a huge site with awesome Hall of Fame Museum too. Get there early on big race nights cause racing is action-packed and seats fill up real fast. Very clean, well managed, but close-up parking is limited and available. I really liked the extra leg room in the very large, 20.000 seat grandstand. Great Views from any seat. Good food selection and Hall of Fame workers were so very helpful. I'm big into NASCAR, but more spills and chills here for affordable price. That's why it's called "Sprint Car Capital of the World" deservingly too. Check it out. Well worth the trip. Always the best drivers there too. Anytime I have a chance to see Kyle Larson or Rico Abreu race, I'll be back next year, even after a four and one-half hour drive for me. Allow enough time to visit their museum. For $10, it's a steal and...
