Laurel Residence Hall — Local services in Knoxville

Ok, this is a very strange and trying time globally. Laurel Hall seems like a place that under normal circumstances would be just fine for a college student. The head of housing at Laurel seems genuinely concerned with the mental and physical well being of the residents. The rooms, in my opinion, are quite overcrowded which is not a good idea while struggling with a resurgence of Covid and its variants. My son moved in and within two days moved out which was understood and respected by the head of Laurel Hall residency. She even had some thoughts about better accommodations in the spring semester. Evidently, UT admissions accepted too many students and in some cases students are even quartered in non-dorm spaces. We will definitely be looking to find another dorm at Laurel in the spring when the overcrowding issue may have...
