Aladdin Grill & Pizza — Restaurant in Knoxville

We just moved to the area back in 2020 and we're looking for a halal place to eat. We found this place online and decided to check it out. We ordered the whole grilled chicken with rice and veggies and left. The place was not clean at all but we were trying to keep an open mind and support local businesses. We got home and the chicken was half cooked, pink and raw in some places and the veggies looked like they had been frozen and steamed and then re-warmed when we ordered our food. It was not what we were expecting for Mediterranean food. Having lived overseas and being married to a middle eastern man, I know what good quality Mediterranean food is and unfortunately this was not it. I hope they can get someone in there who knows how to cook and properly serve food. The place needs a good deep cleaning as well. The floor was so sticky, our shoes stuck to the floor when we walked in. Tables were not clean either so we stood while waiting for our order. Long story short, I would not recommend this place. Our food was undercooked and sub par to say the least and a waste of money. We were not able to eat any of it and ended up just cooking at home after wasting money on a meal we weren't even able to eat. absolute worst food I’ve ever consumed.. I wish I had better to say, but I’m so so beyond disappointed. I ordered fish and chips. It was 2 “fish” nuggets the size of McDonald chicken nuggets, freezer burnt and “fried” (more like microwaved) on top of 10 wet unseasoned fries. I also ordered a salad. The entire salad was covered in dirt. Actual chunks of dirt. I thought it was some type of seasoning at first. No, it was dirt lodged all in the cracks of the lettuce. The whole end of a romaine lettuce head was in there. THERE WAS ALSO A DEAD GNAT IN IT!!! The cucumbers were rotten and slimy, and I was honestly just laughing at this point. The drinks I ordered were forgotten, the sides I ordered and vegetables were forgotten, one meal was entirely different than what I ordered, and of course it was soggy and wet! The chicken didn’t even look fully cooked. Lastly, I waited 90 minutes for this to be delivered, which should have taken less than 30, and Uber eats would not even refund me for any of it. Was told the food was good, so wanted to try the place. Very small place, few seating available. Needed to use the restroom. Was directed back into the small kitchen space off to the side into a very small, old restroom/storage room area. There was an old small garden water container sitting on something that fell over because the space is so tight. Did not know what was in the container, turned out to be water. Picked it up, had to clean up the spill. Went to wash my hands. Had soap all over my hands, turned on the faucet at the sink. No water! Oooohhhh! That's what the water pot is for. You pour the water over your hands to wash. Big turn off for me!. Left out of the bathroom. The ten or so steps back to the small dining area, I saw food sitting in the open air, no coverings, wilted lettuce etc. The area in the back looked older than the area up front.
