A year ago, I bought 7–8 clothing items and spent around $450. Out of that big purchase, only about four items are still wearable. I’m typically not a big spender, so this was a luxury treat for myself.
One pair of pants tore near the zipper after just one wear. A sweater and a two-piece suit went through one wash following the care instructions and the piling on both was unbelievable and embarrassing. Since returns weren’t an option, I ended up throwing them away just two weeks after purchasing because they were already falling apart.
It became clear that the materials used for these items were cheap. When I tried to return them back then, I was told no. As a business owner, I believe there should be an exchange policy in place if an item is so poorly made that it gets damaged after one wash. I understand when you source items for a boutique you aren't 100% sure of the quality but it's unfair for customers to take the hit of that. I’d understand if a full refund wasn’t possible, but not even offering a store credit for better-quality items feels disheartening.
I held off on writing a review for so long because I love supporting small businesses and didn’t want to speak negatively. But I often think about that big purchase and how quickly those clothes became unwearable.
If you decide to shop here, I’d recommend being very selective about what you invest in or consider skipping it altogether. The items are mostly fast fashion, and it’s really hit or miss when it comes to lasting long-term. Gave two stars instead of one because the experience selecting the items was great. The staff is really great at piecing items together. Just wish they were better...
Read moreSo I waited a day to post this so I could cool down a bit and I have not. I am plus sized, I hesitated to mention this because it should not be a relevant detail but apparently it is. I went into this store on Monday about an hour before closing, I was only going here because I had a gift card that I wanted to go ahead and use. Knowing not to expect plus sizes at a boutique, I was not intending or expecting to get any clothes. I walked in and neither one of the employees greeted me or spoke to me at all the entire time I was in the store except for during the approximately 3 minutes I was at the register; they did not say thank you for stopping by or thanks for shopping or even bye- nothing at all when I left. Now, I have never worked retail, but I have always worked in costumer service and I know that even if you do nothing else, you need to at least pretend to be engaged with a costumer even if you don’t think they are the right person your business caters to. So rest assured that I will tell everyone I know and anyone else who will listen that this is not a business that should be patronized. I am disgusted. I hope that this issue will be addressed, but I also have lived in this world long enough to know that is...
Read moreMy wife recently had the pleasure of shopping at Lizard Thicket and I must say, it was an experience that truly stood out. The store itself has a unique charm, offering a wide variety of stylish and high-quality items. But what made her visit truly memorable was the exceptional customer service.
