Cool place. Cool art. Good tequila selection. The price of the food, was pretty steep in comparison of how little protein you get. A $6 taco with 1.5 ounces of meat, smothered in whatever salsa or veggies you get to hide it. Anything that is listed as “Hot” is merely no hotter than your average jalapeno. They have Pepperjack Cheese on that list, come on. The bartender was god awful. Anytime you asked for anything, a napkin, she would reprint your tab and hand it to you, trying to force you out. And not ask if you needed anything more or if anything was good. Not to mention the bartending training is next to none. I ordered 3 modelos, one came with a lime on the side, one with a lime in the beer, one with no lime at all. The margaritas, mind you be stronger is preferred, were all over the place with flavor and alcohol content. I even witnessed the bartender sample one of her own drinks with distaste, then go ahead and serve it.
I would not recommend trying this place. Maybe stop by and take some pictures of the local art, but outside of the that, the service is awful. The attention to guests is non existent. Workers run around that place doing whatever. The food is Taco Bell quality at best. And the overall management of that place is terrible. If you want upscale tacos try Chivos or Agave and Rye or Pacos And Tacos.
Not to mention one server kept running around wiping his nose, sniffing, and scratching one nostril, the entire shift. We all like cocaine bro, but that’s excessive and gross. All of the kitchen staff seemingly just sat at the bar periodically in between making food. The bartenders had no care in you sitting at their bar or serving you. The food runner had no idea what tables were which and what food was what. The hosts/ table bussers would clean tables and just leave trash on the floor. And there seemed to be no manager in sight at any given moment.
I work in the service industry. I am a kitchen manager. I have been doing this a long time. My observation doesn’t come with anything other than a keen eye for restaurant practices. I don’t usually leave bad reviews. But this experience and restaurant was awful in...
Read moreThis place is ridiculous and their food is terrible. I cannot believe that this place is still a thing. What's really disappointing about this place is the first two times we went there were pretty good. But this was back when it opened. However long ago. Recently I went there and this has to be some of the worst food of this kind I've ever had. The tater tots were nothing but a wheat fest. Are you kidding me? Give me a break. Why would you put anything but potatoes in your tater tots? Also they weren't even shaped like tater tots. And the disgusting onions. And tomatoes that were on top of them with a cheese sauce was horrible. Why would you do this to tater tots? I posted a picture to show you how gross that food was. I ate a taco that was supposed to be a ranch shell but it didn't taste like ranch at all. And to order your food here is One of the most complicated things I've ever seen in my life. The server had a mouse voice and kept apologizing for no reason at all. Although after eating the food I would say somebody should apologize. In a market where it's this competitive, how can you stay open compared to all the other options available. If this place is going to continue to be a business it's going to have to revamp this menu. Luckily it's got cool art on the walls to look at because something's got to be worth going there for. There wasn't a soul in the restaurant besides us. And that's probably an indication of where this restaurant is today. If you want. Really good food like this. You should go to Catalya Cantina near...
Read moreI am leaving one star because the art was bright and energetic.
I have been wanting to try this restaurant since I saw advertisement of it opening. We finally got the opportunity to try it with another couple last night and sad to say that we were completely disappointed! The drinks were terrible!!! Two of us tried the Gran Clasico and the other two tried the tropical. They were terrible! If one person thinks they are not good that’s one thing, but four people disliking all is another. And we were charged an extra $1 per drink compared to what menu listed. When ordering we asked the waitress to bring us the most popular and favorite pick of the three dips. We received the smoked cheese dip (it was ok), the guacamole (bland and left most of it) and the pineapple salsa (we all tried one bite and that was it)! I ordered roasted chicken taco and rice. Ate half of my taco and one bite of the rice which has absolutely no flavor. Husband ordered two brisket tacos, wasn’t a fan. Other couple ordered nachos to share. They were not a fan and the female may have had two bites. The male stated that the meat was chewy and dried out.
Our waitress was sweet but the food delivery from time ordered to time received was extremely slow as it took about 45 minutes before receiving
Again, we were all sadly disappointed as we had been so excited to try them. We are two couples who will not be...
