Proper Popcorn — Local services in Knoxville

My family and coworkers love popcorn! So when I heard Market Square had a new popcorn shop I had to check it out. I went in there yesterday evening (on a Friday) and they really weren’t that busy. However, it was after 9:30pm. I sampled some of the popcorn and it was good. I was kinda nervous over some of the reviews that said u get a pre sealed bag and it’s not scooped from the fresh popcorn and the complaints of it being stale. I decided I was gonna buy some, take the chance. What I tried I liked. I overheard one of the employees (male idk the name because they did not wear badges. He was kinda tall with brown hair) I heard him talking about getting someone else (a girl) that was working there fired!!! Apparently, the young lady he was talking about was a brand new employee. He was gonna lie on this poor girl because he didn’t care for her. He said “Girl, I don’t even care”. What I could gather the girl didn’t do anything wrong aside from him not liking her. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I guess he thought I was gonna find it funny like him. Wrong!!! I could not buy something from someone like that. It was vicious. To try to have someone’s job taken from them not to mention talking about it in front of customers!! To carry on a whole conversation (and when I say a whole conversation it was him doing all the talking) about doing something like that in front of a customer. It just blows my mind. When u r at work u represent the company. I would be shocked to find out the owners would be okay with this. The young lady (blonde) he was talking to looked a bit uncomfortable with what he was saying. I bet she would be too scared to even talk to management about it. He seemed like a vindictive person. It’s sad and just not fair when a person puts someone else in a situation like that. I wasn’t crazy about the way he was acting prior to this but I left without making a purchase after that. I could imagine what he said about me after I left without buying anything. Then again he probably didn’t care because it’s not his business he is hurting. So unprofessional. He is hurting your business more than he is helping it. I work at a local hospital not too far from there I was looking forward to taking some of the popcorn to share with coworkers. I was really looking forward to visiting this popcorn shop during my trip downtown for the football game I had heard great things and was genuinely excited, i love popcorn. Unfortunately, my experience was incredibly disappointing. From the moment I walked in, who i assume was the manager (blonde hair older lady) treated me with a cold and dismissive attitude. I tried to ask a simple questions about sampling and sizes, and was met with sharp and rude responses as if I was bothering her by just being there. I honestly can't help but feel like I was being treated this way because I'm a Black woman. The energy was uncomfortable and unwelcoming, and I left the store feeling extremely disrespected. This isn’t just about bad customer service, it’s about the way people are made to feel based on who they are. I came to spend my money and enjoy a fun experience, not be disrespected.I would not recommend coming to this...

Really cute little popcorn shop with additional sweets and things to buy. They're super nice and let you try the popcorn flavors that are in store. You can mix and match your flavors as long as they are in the same category but I wish you could mix and match sweet and savory flavors and just pay for the higher price. We got to sample their candy popcorn and at first I didn't like it because it was really sweet but as I munched on it while deciding on which flavor to buy, I grew to like it. We wanted to mix and match their sweet and savory because the sweet flavors were really sweet and we couldn't see ourselves finishing a bag and didn't want to waste any food or money so we opted for some homestyle popcorn instead which was still really good!
