Bijou Theatre — Attraction in Knoxville

There isn't a bad seat in the house here. I've been near the back for Ray Lamontagne and in the front row for Loudon Wainwright III, and obviously they book a lot of different types of performers. The sound is great and I like that parking is right next to the building. The restrooms are small but clean. The marquee is beautiful and I have to admit, I was EXTREMELY impressed that they booked Wilco for TWO nights! I miss that they used to book double-feature films here. I once saw Miyazaki's "Spirited Away" and "Princess Mononoke" for like $5... anyway, they don't do that anymore, but they should. Also, Yo La Tengo played a twenty-minute- plus "Spec Bebop" that melted most of the audience's faces off. The venue is heavily featured during Big Ears. I also saw Ryan Adams storm off stage and act like a big ol' baby (of course this was years before the whole misogyny scandal - but he had his douche flag on full display that evening). Anyway, you catch my drift - the Bijou is a GREAT showroom with great views and wonderful sound. Do catch a show here if you are in town and make it a staple of your visits downtown if you live...

Terrible staff! Horrible! Appalling customer service! They have a ticket scalping problems, mismanage sales, and the staff are terrible. I have had more than one problem with tickets from them, in the past. This last visit was the worst! If you have any issues with your tickets, seats, other guests, or any other types of issues, do not waste your time talking to the lower level staff. They will give you the run around, kick you out-of they can, will humiliate you, or try to make you spend more money - if possible. They tried to make me repurchase my own seats, when they claimed not to have my tickets! I had purchased the tickets directly from them, had the email confirmation directly from their staff email address! I even showed them a bank statement of the purchase which said Bijou clear as day on it, and they still tried to deny us entry! If you have any issues ask/demand to speak to the GM, Tom Bugg, he was a little bit more helpful, claimed it was a misunderstanding, apologized. But with the constant repeat issues, I suggest you try avoiding here...

A male event staff kept accusing me of taking videos when I was only taking pictures. I have nerve damage in my hands and I have to steady the camera before I take the picture and he got downright nasty with me. Said that no one holds a camera up for 5 minutes without taking a video. I offered to show him that I was only taking pictures but he refused to believe me. I think you need to get better staff. As you can see in one of my pics how bad I shake. Tell you staff if they see a big red dot, that means video. White dot is picture. A girl in front of me recorded for about 30 minutes but every time I tried to take a picture your jerk of a staff member harassed me. He need to be fired if he can't be civil to patrons and picks who he wants to harass and let's the others alone! The only reason I gave it 3 stars was because I enjoyed the music. The...
