This is a beautiful hotel and the rooms are modern and comfy. They seemed clean. The rooms are quiet and well appointed. Temperature of room was great. The location to market square was nice for walking to a restaurant. Staff is friendly. Check in was easy. Rooftop bar was too crowded during Covid-19 for me but a very cool venue to hang out at if it had been another time. Public areas on main level are welcoming and a nice place to visit with friends.
Disliked · I am very unhappy with my experience with several things. During COVID-19 they tout their extra procedures for cleaning. They failed with my room.
I booked two rooms. I went to my room and the door was not sealed but was actually ajar, not fully closed, the TV was on, the microwave and every drawer was open. Strange. I thought I had entered the wrong room. I thought someone was in there. I went in and it was clean and looked to be in order but the fact that the door had been open concerned me. I checked to see if my key card worked and it did so I knew I was in the right room.
I asked My traveling companion if his room door was ajar and things open. That’s when I found it should have been sealed. I called the front desk and she said sorry but it was most likely just forgetting by housekeeping to close everything. But assured me it was clean. She said she could send someone up to check and tell me it was clean, but honestly that was not going to make me feel safer. Anyone could have gone in that room between housekeeping and my check-in at 6:30 pm . Lip service is all you want to give to resolve it and make me feel safe? I should have had a new room. I travel with a UVC light to sanitize my hotel rooms during this pandemic so luckily I had my own solution. However I expected better from this hotel chain. Really upsetting. I didn't feel safe - I could not wait to leave.
I also requested nearby rooms three weeks in advance and because they were full they couldn’t honor that. Please don’t bother telling me you will when you clearly don’t bother to try. I asked at check in and she had us on different floors and said nothing she could do because they were fully booked. Disappointed but ok.
Breakfast was served cafeteria style. The people serving during the covid behind the counters were not wearing masks properly. Disappointing the lack of safety across the board at this hotel.
My last issue was parking. It wasn’t clear where it was. It wasn’t very clear where valet was. I ended up parking blocks away. I will take the blame for not knowing that the parking was not on site, but that would prevent me from staying here again since I was approached three times by panhandlers as I walked with luggage...
Read moreVery nice new hotel in a modern style in the heart of downtown. Market Square and old Knoxville are in walking distance. Valet parking is only offered here, but you have in/out privileges for $22/day that is automatically charged to the room. The texting service to retrieve the car is convenient, but expect the usual valet complaints of changing every single thing in your car so they enjoy their 3-minute ride. Checkout day the last valet left us a present: an ink mark on our 8-month old car's leather center console! He ran away before I could complain. Valet services aren't operated by the hotel so there was no point in bringing it up with the hotel manager. Downside to its location is it's in the middle of everything so it's quite chaotic in the front of the hotel. Hotel desk staff were friendly upon checking in and when utilizing the mini-market. Wake foot sanctuary is a fun and relaxing experience that is surely a must-do but be sure to make a reservation. The 2 room king suite is very spacious and complimentary toiletries are from Neutrogena. Forget trying to get extra towels or pillows. We made 3 separate requests at the front desk and each time they didn't deliver. I finally just stopped a maid on our floor struggling to communicate with her in my very limited Spanish. We were only able to get the maid service once during our stay. The front desk clerk told me I made the request too late that day (it was 10am) and that I was checking out tomorrow anyway (why does that matter?). The pool is tiny and not really worth packing a swimsuit for. Most of the rooftop area is for the Radius Lounge bar which turns into a college club bar with a dress code at night. The doorman actually carded my wife and I, stamped our hands then acted like he was doing our son a favor to walk in with a t-shirt to look around. We laughed at the ridiculousness of it all and quickly left an area we were all too mature for. Complimentary made to order breakfast is very fast and edible. It's quality is really no different than Dunkin' and stay away from the pancakes. In the afternoon it turns into CJ's tacos which is good for a quick bite. Downsides: some valets are careless, the pool is tiny compared to the rooftop space, fridge noisily buzzes, and the odd elevator process. They have 3 of 5 elevators operational but only two takes you to floors 13 & 14. And plan ahead. Although the elevators are fast, they take forever to actually arrive to pick you up. Overall we were happy with the stay and would consider them again, but I would like for them to address some of the issues we experienced. At this price point, there shouldn't...
Read moreI have been a Hilton Honors member for nearly 10 years and this was the worst experience I have ever had dealing with a hotel. My husband and I were down town near the hotel location for a wedding and we booked through the "wedding block" months in advance. The day prior to our arrival I was sent my "its time to check in" on my Hilton app, this was done and completed, even allowing us to pick our room, which we did and get our digital key, which we did. The next day (Saturday, 10/21/23) we went about or day going straight to the church and enjoying the festivities of the day. At approximately 11pm we left the festivities and went to the hotel, after valet parking (this is their only option) I let my husband know we needed to go to the front desk as my digital key for our room was no longer showing on my app....upon getting to the front desk we were told that unfortunately our reservation had been cancelled due to the credit card they tried to run was not good and when they called to try and reach us, we did not answer so they cancelled our reservation. We were then informed that the hotel was sold out and there was nothing they could do since they had no rooms available. Needless to say we were furious as neither my husband nor I had a missed call and/or voice mail from the hotel and the last 4 digits of the credit card number she told us was NOT any credit card that my husband or myself have. I was even able to pull up my app and show that there was NO CANCELLATION showing for us or our room and that my digital key had once been assigned. She again stated there was nothing she could do as they were completely booked. At this point it is nearly 1130 at night and my husband and I are beyond frustrated, tired and furious. We were now without a hotel room and other wedding party guests were beginning to arrive to continue to festivities at the roof top bar. As disappointed as we were, we had no choice but to travel, nearly an hour home. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone, friend or enemy as the staff at the check in desk was rude, unaccommodating and very unbothered by the fact that we were now without a room. To say that I am disappointment in Hilton as a whole is a significant understatement. My husband and I travel all the time and make it a point to stay at a Hilton hotel since we are Honors members and have never had this king of...
