I am quite the control freak, but to turn over creative control, that’s another story. I approached Kim Wright, an affiliate of Avianti Jewelry, about a completely custom setting for my very large pink tourmaline stone. My original setting was yellow gold with tiny round diamonds. My new wedding band for 25 years is rose gold. I wanted a new setting in rose gold to match, but I longed for overstated, in your face, blinding diamonds, but with the pink tourmaline still being the star of the show. Kim drew inspiration from my cathedral setting, and she designed what would be a masterpiece. Behind the scenes, Avianti Jewelry tweaked accordingly, with all communication being clear, concise, informative, and inspiring. The original plan was to utilize all small diamonds, then adding in more. Unexpectedly, I inherited a diamond ring from a family member, and I switched things up because I wanted diamonds from that ring in my new setting. Avianti Jewelry was understanding, and in conjunction with Kim, the design was altered, and very much to my liking. The design process was fairly lengthy, but the lines of communication remained open. I made things a bit stressful because I wanted the actual production process sped up so that I could have my ring in time for our anniversary vacation. One would never know that I put the pressure on. Communication remained open and strong, I was kept in the loop the entire time, and the end result, which was shipped from California to Georgia over night, and two days before our trip confirmed that Avianti Jewelry is the real deal. They came in well under my husband’s budget, they embraced my vision that I gave Kim the freedom to interpret, and they innately understood what mattered most to me: overstated diamond bling but not gaudy, rose gold, showcase but protect my pink tourmaline stone, one of a kind, great quality and workmanship, and some memories from an inherited piece of jewelry. This ring commands attention, but tacky, it is not. We first went to Avianti Jewelry last year, when I finally decided that I wasn’t happy with my original engagement ring. We had picked it out without really taking our time to shop around, and it wasn’t really what I had wanted. So we decided to go to Avianti instead, and see what options we had. Avo and Ani were super understanding of my needs and concerns, and they took the time to listen as I explained why I didn’t like my original engagement ring, and how it had also been sized so small, that I couldn’t even wear it on my finger anymore. I decided to go with an oval center stone, split shank, yellow gold, with a side halo. I loved this ring, and of course it was custom made by Avo himself. This year, after going back on forth with my husband who had always wanted me to have a white gold ring, we went back to Avo. He totally understood how I wanted to change my ring just a little more, making it white gold, and adding a full halo around the center stone. It’s still a split shank, with diamonds on the shank as well. I couldn’t be happier!! My ring came out absolutely gorgeous, and I’m now calling it my “bling ring” ! The quality is amazing, and he made me a new ring, so that the quality of the ring or the diamonds wouldn’t be jeopardized in any way. This is a family owned business in La Canada on Foothill Blvd. I was born and raised in La Crescenta and I used to go to them for my watch battery repair over 10 years ago! Then recently I broke my wedding band and they were able to fix and repair it and GIA certify my ring! They told me how long each item would take and on the dot they would text me and tell me when things were done and when it was time to pick it up. They told me the price up front and they never changed it or tried to raise it on me. They were super fair and reasonable compared to other price offers I had gotten from other jewelers. The final work was amazing! I missed my ring and when I saw it today I was so excited and I couldn't be happier! It was so shinny and pretty and new!
