Onalaska Branch of Mark Jewellers is no longer your full-service jewelry store.
My spouse and I have spent several thousand dollars at this jewelry service center over the past decade and while historically they've had excellent customer service, I no longer find that to be the case.
Most of the staff has turned over, so much so that no one there recognizes me as a purchaser. I've been in several times in the past year to have my rings cleaned and either they're no longer using the ionizing ring-cleaner, or it's being saved for use for newly purchased items only.
I have taken my bridal set in many times and it doesn't come back to me clean and sparkly. Instead, where it used to come warm and looking nearly new, now it seems that the rings are taken to the back for an incredibly short amount of time, and then the agent comes back out, rubbing the ring set, which is cold and still dull. Even the diamonds lack the luster and shimmer that is due their very special cut.
Unless you're buying new and looking to pick up, I don't find this to be a full-service jewelry store with a friendly down-home feel any more. We're moving out of the state now, and I'm glad. I hope to find a service center that recognizes that keeping a customers jewelry sparkling causes conversations that draw more clientele, as ooh's and ah's over diamonds still bait the question, "where did you get such a lovely set?!"
If the machine is broken, please fix it. If you're saving it for new customers and their new purchases, perhaps it's lessening your market share as older rings and seasoned customers walk away...
Read moreKarla and then entire staff at Mark Jewellers are fantastic! A few weeks ago I came in unable to wear my wedding ring and assumed I would have to have it resized. It was fine where it sat on my finger, but I could not get it over my knuckle (I found out that my knuckle was a size and a half larger than the rest of my finger). I knew that enlarging it to get it over my knuckle would mean that it would slip and rotate on my finger...but what choice did I have. Actually there are a LOT of options that I had no idea existed! First, Karla told me that it is not uncommon for your knuckle to "grow" and that lots of people experience this problem...I already felt better! On top of that, it can be fixed WITHOUT enlarging the ring and causing a different problem. Karla showed me the various options, giving me the pros, cons and costs. I decided to have my ring "hinged". I picked up my ring today earlier than expected and it is AMAZING! You cannot tell that the hinge is there and it works perfectly! My ring is actually stronger now than it was before, fits perfectly where it is supposed to, my knuckle is no longer a problem and the cost ended up well below the estimate I...
Read moreThis little jewelry shop has exceptional customer service and is always such a pleasure to visit. While my mom was there having a piece of jewelry repaired my mom mentioned my daughter having very sensitive ears. They suggested her to try their Concepts line of earrings for very sensitive ears. They even gave her a pair to try out. I was skeptical to putting them in my daughters ears but we did and she wore them for several days with no problems. Of course being young she took them out and lost them. So while I was up in La Crosse I stopped in and bought a couple pairs including one for me. I wore a whole week there and made sure to stop in before heading home and bought about 6 more pairs as I have not been able to wear earrings in several years. I have now been wearing daily for 4 months only taking them out to clean my ears every few days. I sleep in them and don’t even think about them being in. Before finding these I couldn’t wear earrings for more than an hour before irritation and oozing began so this is a total game changer. They also have lots of styles and are happy to order ones they don’t have in stock. Really so...
