I was a customer of AT&T for over 12 years. Long story short I was on my fathers plan and needed to be on my own plan with my girlfriend. After sitting in the AT&T store next to Walmart for over an hour. They proceed to tell me that they put me on my own plan but couldn’t move my girlfriend to mine till tomorrow because they were in the process of updating their software. And to just come back another day to finish everything. Which means no new phones for us and another pointless trip to AT&T.
They told me I’d have to go to Michigan city to proceed. Upon arrival at the Michigan city store I explained every thing in detail and they proceeded to have us pick out the phones and plan we wanted. We went through the whole process and then was left sit there for a half hour with no communication.
Eventually they came out and said there is an issue with my telephone number and I have to get a new number if I want to proceed. I have had this number for 12 YEARS! After explaining to them that there is no way I will loose this number they proceed to tell me that my girlfriend must change her number. AGAIN! They pulled this BS 6 months ago when she had an issue with her iPhone 7 and they convinced her to get a new number and an IPhone 6 that she was forced into paying 200 dollars for!!!
I explained several hundred times that we are not going to switch numbers just because they wanted us to. WHEN IN FACT we could go to Verizon and they will take our numbers for free!
To top it all off at the end of our conversation they said “ yeah it’s best that you just leave and go to Verizon good luck” and when I left AT&T that afternoon I had gained nothing and felt defeated that they would rather lose two 12 year loyal customers rather than fixing the issue. The said my number was tied to an old billing system where I pay the previous months bill and and they no longer allow that so I must get a new number. I don’t care whether I pay last months bill or the next three in advance. I just didn’t want to lose our numbers. They didn’t care.

Mike Hagenow has been the most pleasant and professional person I’ve met! He was very understanding and respectful! On top of that, he is very well educated man who took hours out of his time to make sure everything was explained an it went absolutely perfect for ME! I was there when he unlocked the door followed by four other customers. I told him I'm in no hurry so while electronic things were going on with my issue he was helping two others while monitoring our progress. He got me to the next up Stephanie via phone and she was swamped in her own customer issues so we set a time for her to call me at home. Mike and I finished up and I headed home. Stephanie called as we agreed, I was impressed, we took my looming issue as far as we could and via phone she hooked me up with Robin who was able to successfully complete what needed to be done. So from northern Indiana to the South East to California the Verizon folks were all polite, professional and if I could I'd love to have a martini and continue some of our conversations. After getting the runaround for 30 days that my phone would be fixed, it was still not repaired. So I received my phone back and I went to TCC Laporte to talk to Mike. Mike assisted me with the purchase of a new iPhone. Mike has been my wireless consultant for many years now. This is the third phone I bought from Mike. Years ago Mike suggested to me to subscribe to the cloud for backup. So I went ahead and subscribe to the cloud. As Mike was activating my new iPhone the cloud kicked in and all my information appeared just like it was on my phone that didn’t work anymore.
