I typically don't like to leave poor reviews, having worked in the restaurant industry for over seven years. However, Popeyes earned this One Star review after two failed attempts at trying to receive decent service - not excellent, just decent. (I just want you to do the job for which you are being paid. That's all.) The first experience with Popeyes was within the first week of the store opening. We got caught up in the hype of a new fast-food place in La Porte. After waiting in the drive-thru for a while (no biggie, we were expecting that), we get up to order and almost everything we wanted was out of stock or not even being offered yet. (Not sure why you would have menu items being displayed on your menu board if they're not available, but whatever.) When we finally receive our order of the menu items that were actually available, the order was wrong. The second experience occurred yesterday. The store was pretty dead, so we went through the drive-thru again hoping for a better experience. Everything was available, however, they were (once again) able to get the order incorrect. The first instance I was able to write it off due to the lack of logistical planning that occurred during opening week. This instance, not so much... "Why? How do you know?" Well, I'm so glad you asked random person reading this review, I know this because the three employees camped out in front of the drive-thru window were more preoccupied with gossiping than ensuring the order was correct. I know they were gossiping, because they left the window open, so we could hear their exchange. Hell, we were on the same level as the employees were, so much so, my boyfriend could have reached over tapped the closest employee on the shoulder and asked her to do her damn job. Placed an order in Drive thru for an 11 piece meal, with an extra side of coleslaw. We were told to drive to the 'Front Door' to wait for our order. We drove around however, another car pulled in front of us. 15 minutes later a worker walked out with a bag of food. They went to the first car and handed her the bag.... as you probably guessed..it was OUR ORDER... we pulled up... waited another 5 minutes... husband decided to walk in to check on our food. After standing at the counter for another 5 minutes...while 10 employees scurried around aimlessly he asked for assistance. The guy that gave our food to the other car .... asked how he could help. My husband explained that we had been waiting for our Drive thru order. He asked to see the receipt. Hubby show him the receipt...and employee said "The other car said it was that was THEIR ORDER." The employee turned around and started putting food into a bag..then grabbed another bag and added more food. He handed my husband the bags.... without any word. My husband walked out vowing to never return. When we arrived home we unpacked the bags... an 8 piece dinner, extra biscuits, a chicken strip dinner an extra box of chicken strips, another box of biscuits and a box of fries. š¤·āāļø They need a lot more practice at serving. We 3 of us each ordered the 5 piece chickrn strip meal. $16.00 a meal!!! You got to be kidding me! But I figured thats okay I am sure the chicken will be delicious. NOPE! The "spicy" strips were not much at all. And the regular had no flavor. But what was the worst is that nothing was fresh. It tasted like all of it had been fried warlier and sat under a luke warm heat lamp. Fokd was all luke warm. Biscuits tasted fake. And the cole slaw was old. Mac n cheese was old. Nothing was good about this meal. We spent over $50 and got $5 value for it. I will NEVER eat at Popeyes again. I dont know what kind of "Louisiana" spice you all use, but maybe you need to get back to basics. You lost a customer. Shame on you for how much you charge for garbage food!!
