I was referred to Pool & Spa by a neighbor, but can certainly say that I will not recommend P&S to any other neighbor looking to get an install after this lackluster experience.
Regardless of the pool package that you purchase, there should be a project manager assigned. Someone should come to the house to ensure there's enough room for a pool, sell you on necessary features or upgrades, and coordinate everything from permit to coordination of concrete and electric. For STEALTH POOLS, this option is not offered (not sure why) which then causes the home owner to play PM in between your own job, life etc.
Scheduling & Install : After calling scheduling 4-5x o find out when I was going to be installed, I was informed that my steps were not in stock, and the only option I had was to go with their ladder system OR above ground steps. I'm making a large purchase, why on Earth would I want above ground steps in my IN GROUND pool? A manager refused to get on a call with me and I was told there was nothing they can do, there was no ETA for steps and those were my options. I shot my sales person a text that I had to cancel and magically steps appeared.....I should have still canceled just based on that experience, but I figured how much worse could it get?
During my Project Manager stint, I asked multiple people, multiple times how much gravel I need for backfill (because they wont backfill for Stealths either) and I was told the 3 tons that was outlined in my contract ......Please get a real install department OR list approx tonnage of backfill is needed per pool in your "big brochure" so that your clients have all necessary information.
The pool was delivered the day before the install and they tell you they need 8'. I have 10' and guess what -- they drove over the neighbors yard and left huge ruts with their skid steer. 8' is plenty of room --- they need better drivers.
Day of install the guys were great, here on time and very respectful, however they showed up with a bob cat and not an excavator. I paid extra for a company to come out and pre dig a few holes to ensure no rock shelf would be hit (5K per day for P&S depot to break that up) and advised the install team prior to scheduling that we would need an excavator because all I've got was rock......well as mentioned, they showed up with a bob cat and what should have taken 2 hours to dig, took nearly 6. As they couldnt get the bottom flat enough, they suggested I get 20 tons of gravel delivered plus a huge tarp to go over it so they can lay sand and then install the pool . The gravel delivery was something else and they too ruined another neighbors lawn, but had this been communicated up front I wouldnt have had to pay for an extra delivery OR ruin anyone's lawn -- remember I asked for backfill previously so I could have used that gravel in the meantime.
The pump was installed in an area with minimal PVC tubing and not a desirable location- I wish I would have corrected them while they were installing it but I didnt and that's my fault. I think at that time I was just over it and wanted P&S to just be done.
They leave the cleanup for you and the guys took my newly purchased 50' garden hose and left me with a 12.99 20ft hose with duck tape holding it together.
The YELP reviews are much more indicative of the service and product you receive -- hoping this google review is on top for many to see. Perhaps a PM being assigned would have resulted in a much different situation, and perhaps that is where good reviews come from.
The only positive from here was their true install time being 3 weeks out and the install guys were nice. My salesman was nice up until the time that I needed to know about backfill gravel and still hasnt responded even after multiple asks (2 weeks now), and ultimately their price was reasonable.
I hope the owner sees the review and doesnt dismiss it and makes a change. Assign a PM to ALL projects regardless of cost; it'll truly make a difference for your clients and could yield more business...
Read moreThe necessity for a jacuzzi arose due to my husband, a disabled veteran who underwent multiple surgeries and battled cancer, requiring the spa for therapeutic purposes. Initially, the staff appeared very kind, but that changed after the purchase. We bought a Mystic 120 6-person spa, but received a used model with scratches. When we complained, they offered a $500 store credit, but we insisted on getting the product we paid for. The spa delivered was clearly last year's model, evident from the differences in the cover and water release mechanisms.
Bobby, the delivery person, was exceptional—helpful, honest, and kind. Daniel, on the other hand, was quite the opposite. Jeremy had informed us that the necessary plug was available at Lowe's, which turned out to be untrue. Daniel proposed to install a longer plug at our home, which we appreciated. However, they attempted to deliver the spa without the extended plug. Wanting to avoid the impracticality of an unusable spa, I refused delivery until the installation date was confirmed. Despite refusing delivery on Friday due to the lack of an installation date, I was informed on Monday that delivery was scheduled for that day with Daniel's presence. Daniel always seemed surprised about having to visit. The situation deteriorated to the point where I lost my composure. My advice for anyone in need of a spa is to consider alternative stores, as this one seems to forget you once payment is made.
UPDATE: I JUST SAW THE RESPONSE FROM THE MANAGER, AND EVERY THING THAT THEY POSTED WAS NOT COMPLETELY TRUE. WE WERE NEVER OFFERED A REFUND!!! DANIEL DID NOT END THE CALL, I DID. I DID NOT INSIST THAT DANIEL BE AT DELIVERY, I WAS TOLD THAT HE WOULD BE THERE AT 2;00 P.M. THAT DAY, HE WASN'T. I CALLED THE STORE AND DANIEL TOLD ME THAT HE HAD ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA THAT HE WAS EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE THERE. WE EXPECTED NOTHING FOR FREE!!! WE WOULD HAVE GLADLY PAID FOR THE PLUG, WE WERE NEVER TOLD THAT THERE WAS A PRICE. IF WE EXPECTED ANYTHING FREE, WE WOULD HAVE ASKED FOR THE PROMISED STORE CREDIT FOR THE FILLING AND EMPTYING OF THE FIRST TUB THAT DANIEL PROMISED. AND WHY WOULD YOU GIVE ME A BLEM TUB FOR THE EXACT SAME PRICE OF A NEW ONE, AND WHY IS THIS THE FIRST TIME THAT WE HAVE HEARD OF THIS??? YOU PEOPLE ARE NOT HONEST AND THAT IS THE REASON THAT BUSINESS WITH YOU IN NOT IN OUR NEAR FUTURE. IF YOU WERE GOING TO GIVE A BLEM TUB, THEN WE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS AND WE SHOULD HAVE NOT BEEN CHARGED FOR A NEW ONE. AND YES, I DID SAY TO DANIEL THAT HE WAS A FU#$%#%^ IDIOIT AND I STILL STAND BY THAT!!!! i AM EXTREMELY SAD THAT I SAID THAT, BUT IT'S THE TRUTH, BUT I DO APOLOGIZE FOR THOSE WORDS, I USUALLY CONTROL MYSELF BETTER, BUT YOU DON'T MESS WITH MY HUSBAND, MY MONEY OR MY INTELLIGENCE AND UNFORTUNATELY YOU GUYS DID...

Cluster from the word go. I had to pull info out of the sales guy. I planned to use their 12 month no interest financing. He gave me a website and said all I had to do was go there and apply. I left to measure my yard and decide on pool size to meet codes. I apply to find out it's for an unsecured loan. Find out when I go back to order the pool that there was a specific link they had to give me. That's 2 pulls on my credit unnecessarily. I asked the guy behind the counter if he knew anything about the electrical part. He tells me they can run it off of the electrical outlets on the back of the house. Not true. Well, you could but then you won't pass the electrical code. They'll give you an electrician referral that doesn't answer or return calls.
There's a list of things you are responsible for doing because they don't. Some pool companies locally do; just not Pool and Spa Depot. You will have to get your own pool permit, electrical permit, electrician and tons of sand. After the pool install, you will be responsible for all dirt dug up, damage to your yard and driveway, leftover sand and any trash resulting from the install including their empty drink bottles.
Kelly called to set up the install. Long story short, she threw other people under the bus for things I'd been told. Her attitude was so nasty I resorted to one word responses. She was very condescending addressing the financing and electrical issues. She wouldn't set up an appt. unless I had sand on the property even though I said they can deliver it 2 days before. FYI - they have you get way more than you need just in case it washes away while waiting for an install. Isn't that nice of them? Next issue is 811 filed my ticket and said Pool and Spa Depot needed to call too but P&S argued with me about it and their resolution was to offer me to cancel and refund my money. I never, at any point indicated that's what I wanted.
Day of install, they were about to install a 24 ft pool but I ordered an 18 ft. That led to multiple trips in and out of the yard. Oh and I'm left to install the LED light, the alarm, the stairs, the auto vacuum. They don't take care of that either. My yard is a disaster, their trash piled up and the pool is not sitting where I marked either which is huge impact on my future plans. Incompetent, uncaring, nasty attitudes and you'll be stuck with many other expenses. This doesn't even scratch the surface of how bad the experience was. Run from this place and take your money somewhere else. They won't mind, they're gladly offering cancels...
