El Rodeo Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in La Vergne

My family and I absolutely love this place! The server named Maria has been our absolute favorite girl for over 15 years now, she is the nicest lady you'll ever meet! The food is also always great! The cheese dip here is my perfect one, nobody else's is quite right except El Rodeo. I adore the flan for dessert, the hard shell tacos are phenomenal and always the same every single time. The fajitas for one are more than enough for my mom and I to share - with leftovers!! Fresh and crispy chips that aren't overly salted, salsa that isn't overly spicy but with an option for salsa Verde that satisfies those that like more heat. My favorite meals currently are the Steak taco salad and the #19. I appreciate that they will sub cheese sauce for the typical red sauce over burritos, and they always bring me an extra dish of lemons and extra napkins. This is my go to restaurant, and the place I bring any friends that aren't local. I can't say enough good things about the staff...

I’m giving a 2 ⭐️ because food is always decent. That being said this has happened three different times and it’s ridiculous honestly. We usually go close to whatever time the happy hour ends. With that being said we are usually around 20 minutes to happy hour ending. The same waitress always lets us know it’s happy hour and we have so many minutes left until it ends. Well we always get the one Margarita and it’s supposed to be bogo. Well when we always try to order another one she never wants to give us the free one. Always says happy hour ended but that’s not how it works lol. She’s done it three times to us finally the friend we were with wasn’t having it and talked to the manager and got it squared away but it shouldn’t be...

Atmosphere was peaceful bc we were the only customers there and the time was off schedule around 3pm So take that into account. I shared a late lunch with my 2 grown up kids I couldn't be more proud of but onward back to the task at hand. Service was ok, slight difficulty with communication restrictions of waitress, however she was friendly as were the other staff I came in contact with. Food was average only not impressive. I don't enjoy writing any negative comments but I will always be upfront about My personal experience. I have to say I most likely will probably find another Mexicana restaurant soon bc there are some phenomenal chefs and Great cooks who take pride in the quality and presentation of this...
