Los Agaveros Mexican grill and Bar — Restaurant in La Vergne

Normally we go to Margarita House in Smyrna but I was tired and this place is way closer to the house. However what a big mistake! Restaurant was empty except for a large party. We waited for 5 minutes before our server came over and 15 minutes for drinks and the worse part is after waiting and watching our server doing everything but make our drinks (come to find out she also was the bartender and the only server) she comes over and asks of if they are on the rocks or frozen! Wait what so you haven't even started... Well after 20 good minutes we finally get our top shelf on the rocks Margarita and they taste horrible... Being charged top shelf for well premix... our server disappeared often. We got the nasty drinks but no one around to tell. It really seemed as if there was an unspoken reason why she would not come back and check on us. We watched her walk back and forth to the large party but did not once come check in with us. This would go the same for the hostess. She was helping but also would not come over and check on us. I literally had to grab the hostess attention to get service. Now to the food... after way to long to be waiting to order the hostess came and took our order and at that time I informed her I have an allergy and that I didn't want any onions (no Pico, no guacamole, no onions) and needles to say my meal came out with what had to be extra onions in it... After 10 mins of waiting to see anyone I walked over to the kitchen area and got the attention of the hostess (who took the order) and while she was sorry no accommodation was made, food was not remade just removed from the bill as they had let the kitchen close. Yes all that time waiting and now their kitchen is closed and I am left hungry, and utterly disappointed. I will NEVER be back and will ensure I spread the word... This is not the place to go to catch a taco Tuesday vibe! Keep driving until you find either Margarita House or at least...

Los Agaveros tries to bring a fresh new cuisine to La Vergne in place of the 3 time Chinese buffet that used to be at the same location. We came on a Friday night a little after 8. Place was pretty much empty, and there were 3-4 servers. Took 5 mins to get sat, and then 15 mins to be asked for our order. After it came out, we saw that both of our entrees had some things left on we had asked to be taken off. After picking them off, we dug into our meals. The meat in the enchiladas was a bit dry and the cream sauce wasn't my favorite. Refried beans were surprisingly, the best thing on my plate, very tasty. Salsa was adequate, but the service for my first ( And probably only) visit was the clincher into my review. We only got check on once during the 20 mins we were eating and enjoying a date night, but after we were done, we had 2 other servers besides our own come and ask if they could clear our table or if we needed refills. After telling the 2nd additional server we needed our server so we could get the bill, she didn't come over for another 12 mins, at which time she asked "what?". This makes over 20 mins that we sat waiting on a bill, AFTER we had finished eating. And mind you, the busiest it got was 5 tables at once, with 2-3 servers besides our server. And then we were charged twice for an extra drink when all I got was water. Over all, I would give it a 4/10, so a 2/5 is what I am accompanying with this review. Food mediocre, prices a little high, service was abysmal but I know that that can vary from server to server. Ordered take out. First off, the girl taking my order on the phone had to ask me 5x to repeat my order because the damn music is so loud in the background she couldn’t hear what I was saying. I made the mistake of trusting that everything I paid for was in the bag. I get home, and noticed that parts of my order were missing. It’s 10:04pm and I make a phone call to the restaurant explaining that I’m missing items. The girl tells me I can come back and pick it up. I explained that I was already home. What other option do I have? She tells me “ I don’t know what you want me to do about it” I said no, I’m not making that trip. What time do you close? “We’re actually closed now” so why would you ask me to make a 20 minute drive if you’re already closed? I asked to speak with a manager and she told me no. When I asked for her name I couldn’t hear it clearly it started with an ‘A’ but I don’t believe she gave me her real name. The food was awful I ordered tamales and a chicken chimichanga. Didn’t receive the cheese dip or extra rice and beans I PAID FOR. Staff is rude as hell… mediocre food. Tastes like Taco Bell. I wouldn’t recommend. Especially after the they were so rude and couldn’t even offer a refund or an apology for the situation. I even tipped on a to-go order, just to receive this type of customer service. Bad business.
