Craziest thing was I bought a meal and a $9 beer to wash it down, and the lady let the beer explode while opening it and about 1/3 of it fizzed out. And then she handed it to me. Despite me asking nicely several times for an actual full beer, she refused. Since they're idiots that don't accept cash (only credit card), I was fortunate enough to get my $ back thru my CC.
ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Saw 38 Special/Kansas. Tickets were outrageously overpriced for bands that old - $120. They were recently at a county fair for $20. That tells me the venue is greedy. My friend was dying to go though, so I went. It's easier to get in an airport than this place. Way overkill on the entry screening. They don't accept cash for their overpriced drinks/food, which should be illegal. $9 for a 12oz beer should also be illegal. As many others have mentioned, they didn't have the brainpower to flatten out the lawn when they made this place, knowing they'd be putting folding chairs there. You're very uncomfortably sloped forward. We ended up standing in the back for most of the concert as the seating hurt our backs. They are so greedy as this venue, they have to smash EVERY SINGLE chair into the lawn that they can. We couldn't even stick our legs out at a 90° angle, and any time someone wanted in/out of our row, we had to get up and all walk out of the row to let them out. The aisles at the ends of the rows are only about 1 person wide. If you meet someone walking the other way, you both have to turn and suck in your gut. That'd be great in the event of an emergency where everyone needed to escape urgently. There's no where to eat other than 5 tiny tables. I was standing along the brick wall eating & watching the concert and security rudely yelled at me "you can't stand there,...
Read moreThis new venue has potential. But it isn't quite there yet. The parking garage is close. The scenery is great. And the food is delicious. We were visiting for a concert in the outdoor venue. The chairs they have set up for everyone are literally 10 or 11 inches wide and directly next to each other. I'm 5'10" and 185lbs - these seats were not wide enough for me to sit in without rubbing shoulders with the person next to me. They also allowed people with seats towards the back to crowd the aisles during the performance, basically negating the extra money you paid to be closer. As I said, the food was delicious. But we ordered a side of French fries for $8.00 and got exactly 9 fries in the order. Alcohol is $9/12oz or $11 for tall boys. The concerts also have to end at 10:30pm which is wildly disappointing for a modern concert venue. This venue could be amazing if they would take into consideration the wants and needs of the modern day concert-goer. Wider seats/more room in general to sit and stand. Keep the aisles clear and do not let people stand in them to watch the concert. Larger portions for how expensive the food is. Allow the bands to play later than 10:30pm. EDIT- I went to another band a few days after this review that was scheduled for the indoor venue. When we arrived to our surprise this concert was moved outside with no notification. It got down into the low 50s that night and we ended up having to leave early because we still had shorts and t shirts on from earlier in the day due to the fact it was supposed to be an...
Read moreThis Review is regarding the Amphitheater.
Went to see Chicago 5/15 and the sound was a little muddied but that's to be expected in an outdoor venue versus an indoor one. Take that into consideration when choosing whether or not to pay the high $$$ for closer seats. May have been worth it to pay for a closer seat I THOUGHT. However, What I quickly realized though is that when you get up to go to the bathroom that is to the right of the stage you can EASILY return to an unoccupied seat towards the front without even a look from the security guard or event staff verifying that you did in fact pay for those expensive $200+ tickets. I snagged a good photo towards the end right in front thanks to that. Right now this venue seems like it's just a disorganized free for all. Buy the bad seats in the back and move your way up front!
Another annoyance is the lack of labels on the seats. It was impossible to find where you were specifically as the rows were not labeled. They only had section signs, so you could find the general area where you sat but that is it.
Finally, the entrance to the theater begins down a long winding ramp and includes a small park area with slides and tables to enjoy the amphitheater when not in use. It is all still open to the public even during the concert as it is before the security gate. As a result some very smart people ended up just sitting right outside the venue with no ticket and watching the concert for free. It would be nice to have better regulation of this but I am guessing that will improve as...
