Stopped into this place to check out the new spot in La Vista and have become some what of a regular. They have alot of great unique choices on tap that should suit almost every beer drinker, even the domestic ones. They make custom fresh in-house cocktails for the non beer drinkers, and the prices are good for both kinds of drinks. They have a big glass garage door that opens up when the weather is nice and the atmosphere could be really fun when its busy. The owner is usually working the bar more often than not and is very helpful and knowledgeable. You can really see the level of care and commitment he has to the patrons and his business which only makes you want to come back more. If you blow a keg you get a $5 gift card, which is always fun to get when you're not expecting anything. Highly recommend checking this place out while you can, it's a nice spot to have drinks with friends or even by yourself. Either way you'll find conversation if you want it. You can keep up with the ever changing draft list on...
Read moreI recently visited the Heights for an event, and really loved my time there! The location is easy to get to - has tons of parking - and is clean and cozy inside. They offer a few traditional steel-tip style dart boards, to give it the "pub-feel" which is awesome. The selection of drinks is huge, and the digital menu is complete with descriptions of each drink, how much is left in the keg, and more. We spoke with Joey - who went into detail about how frequently the lines and equipment for the taps are cleaned and sanitized, which is really what sets this place above tons of others! In addition to the selection of brews on tap - they also have an extensive cocktail menu, and pride themselves in hand-squeezing and preparing their syrups, juices, and ingredients, truly making them masters of their craft. I myself am not a beer-drinker, but luckily for me, in addition to the cocktail menu they always keep two rotating ciders on tap, and usually one type of mead.
I can't wait to...
Read moreWhen I lived in Omaha, Heights was part of my weekly routine for the weekend. Joey has established a fantastic gathering space in the La Vista area where all are welcome. The seasonal cocktails are always unique and delicious, the standard Old Fashioned is one of my favorite of anywhere I have called home, and the house pretzels are of course mandatory bar food. Last but not least, there is the beer—it is a Draft Room after all. The selections rotate consistently and there is a style of beer for everyone. Heavy emphasis on providing more local beers while still bringing on national craft favorites. If you like beer, Heights has something for you. If I could give more stars, I would. I learned of Heights in the first months following opening, and anytime I visit Omaha, this is on my list of must...
