Stopped by at both Hobbytown USAs yesterday after my visiting to the SAC Museum, I chose to visit this one first because despite the low ratings(I feel like 99% left by the RC players) about how bad the customer service is, I also read this one carries more plastic kits, which is what I'm looking for. It turned out it was the most correct decision I made that day. It has a very nice selection of plastic model kits, as well as very, very reasonable price tags, almost the same as what you can get from the internet, for example $17.95 for a 2016 Revell new-tool 1/72 JAS-39D(yes I know JAS-39C released last year) I just can't complain it at all. I barely see a Hobbytown would price their kits like these. I buy models for over 15 years and I have a huge stash, more than you can imagine of, so trust me I know what I'm talking about. And speak of the customer service. It's not because the owner hate you/doesn't like to talk, I figured he just not good at it. If you know what you are asking for then he WILL respond to you with the answers you need. I think some of you RC guys just want the owner to tell you what to get. But hey keep in mind that's your own hobby, part of the fun is to figure it out yourself, do your own research before you start, it's just type and search deal in Google! Otherwise you are just big boys that buying toys, and you can't even make your decision while you could when you were a little boy, kind of weird isn't it? I haven't seen a decent plastic model hobbyshop like this for at least two years, most importantly it carries the latest products which benefits the hobby industry, guys please don't kill it with you irresponsible ratings. Let me make it straight, if you like plastic model kits, stop by at this one you wonât be disappointed; if you love the RC stuff, please visit the Scott Cir...
Read moreI have spent over 1,000 dollars over the last 2 months and that much over a year ago. All on top end Trexxas RC cars. Family bought me gift cards to spend more. Going to the store wanting to buy some things for my nitro slayer. What do you have? Nothing!! Not even a set of stickers. What a rip off for someone who purchased for also the fun of making modifications. Poor, poor. And watch, no one will call to ask for any of my business back. Quick to sell and say yes when I asked at purchase but right back to spend more you have nothing. Such a disappointment. This store and company used to be fun to do business with everyone into the hobby. Now itâs just sales. I feel totally ripped off. I wouldnât have given this one star. But funny it doesnât let you post if you donât give one.
So the OWNER text back, thank you. The problem is you sell the products telling me yes you can sure make some cool modifications with all of the Trexxas cars you buy. But, no you donât stock anything other than maintenance items. I go to the other store in Omaha, they laugh and show me pages and pages of what they stock or can order. Now, not every item has a Trexxas brand. But while talking with employee previous, that was no issue. So my guess is this âŚ.. You evidently do not own, or support the other store. So unless you can prove me wrong. Iâm telling everyone to shop the...
Read moreI bought an RC boat that said on the package "self righting" meaning it wouldn't flip over and then be unable to get back to shore. This was really important to me for obvious reasons. I used it for 5 minutes and it flipped upside down and wouldn't move. After about 15 minutes it sunk lower in the water and finally turned over slightly so I could power it back to shore. I found the inside cavity full of water with the motor and battery wet. I didn't trust that it wasn't permanently damaged so I took it back to get a full return. The manager at the La Vista Nebraska store said they don't return because they'd be out of business if they allowed returns and I'd have to contact the manufacturer. I emailed the manufacturer and they said they'd take back the boat from Hobbytown if Hobbytown would refund me. I took it back and showed the manager the email and they still wouldn't take it back even though they'd be made whole themselves if they did refund me. They obviously only care about keeping the profit at all cost even if that means unsatisfied customers. Why would anyone buy from them if they can buy same or similar product from somewhere else like Amazon and get a full...
