I’ve been going to Stater Bros in Ladera Ranch since it opened and for a long time, I had no issues with it. My mom and I both enjoyed the selection and prices at Stater Bros. However, as of recently (the last few months) we’ve had encounters with a certain employee that has tainted our view on the market as a whole. Every time that Linda, a cashier, is on register, she makes rude comments under her breath. The first time it happened, my mom and I didn’t think too much of it but we soon realized this would become a constant occurrence every time we encountered her. If myself or my mom were purchasing alcohol, she would make some comment about how we’re going “all out”, or how we “certainly love our drinks”. I’d try to just laugh it off but Linda never laughed while saying these comments, insinuating she was not trying to make a joke at all. Additionally, the few times that Linda would checking out our items, she will talk down to the employee that is bagging. Again, it’s usually something said quietly or under her breath, but it’s something like “hope you can fit this all”. I’m not sure exactly what she’s saying or if the other employee can hear it but it just seems very very strange and the employee never seems to be receptive to what she is saying. Along with these little comments, she seems to be very despondent and uncharismatic compared to other employees. That is obviously not anything too serious as everyone has their own personality, but it just adds to the mean demeanor she gives off.    Read moreFor years I have shopped here and navigated my way around the rudest, misogynist older male checker I have ever encountered in my 65 years of life. Today he was at quick check out stand #2 and because I had 4 things stood in that line hoping the guy had changed. Nope worse than ever. I got eye contact first and gave a sincere hello. In return I got an inaudible grunt of a reply. Whereas just seconds earlier he was chatting it up with the older man who came before me. This checker looked so put out and disgusted when he reached for a plastic bag and I politely asked for paper. Then as I was leaving an elderly woman behind me sweetly told him she could not lift the extra large plastic wrapped bottles of water or 12 pack of soda in her basket. He just stood there where he was, looked at her with a sour face and said NOTHING. I said let me help you. I reached into her basket and lifted the crate of water bottles and the 12 pack onto the conveyor belt literally in front of the checker who proceeded to scold me and tell me he was just going to come around with the scanner. I said, you did not answer her and anyway it’s done now. She thanked me. What a shameful excuse of a “man” and inexcusable and unforgivable of Stater Bros to retain him as an employee and subject their customers to this mistreatment and humiliation. That’s it for me.    Read moreThe Cleo And Leo section is the worst of all.Everyday I have to stopped to get a fried chicken for dinner.For everyday I stopped by i never see a fresh fried chicken in the display counter..it’s so disrespectful for a loyal customer who loves your products not getting a real customer service..everyday around 5:30pm..i keep seeing an old pieces of chicken that are burnt from the heat lamp.It was couple weeks ago when me and 3 more customers was complaining in the manager because we’ve waited on that fried chicken for almost an hour because the cook left while cooking the chicken because he needed an 10 minutes break..while he was cooking.Manager even gave us a gift card and apologized on what happened and yet still nothing changed..it’s freaking dinner time and you guys don’t have a fresh fried chicken ready for your customers.
