Where do I begin? I found Susan’s Instagram page and was so impressed with her work. I messaged her and scheduled an appointment to get my eyebrows microbladed AND shaded (aka “combo brows” aka “powder brows” aka “nano brows”). A series of unfortunate events and last-minute unplanned emergencies caused me to have to reschedule my appointment THREE times (not the norm for me and I did give at least 48+ hours’ notice) and most estheticians wouldn’t have let me reschedule so many times and would have dropped me as a client, but Susan was so understanding and flexible and genuinely kind and still allowed me to make my final appointment (8/5/23). I was so excited to meet her and have her work her magic on my brows.
I will say that I have gotten my eyebrows microbladed in 2017 and then combo microbladed & shades in 2020 (went to the same salon and esthetician). The person I went to did a good job but was TWICE the price of Susan. Now, I am a firm believer in “good work ain’t cheap, and cheap work ain’t good”, and it’s definitely an investment (totally worth it because it lasts so long and LOOKS AMAZING!!!) and since it’s permanent makeup I wasn’t looking for someone cheap - it just so happened that Susan was more affordable, but after today, my first application, I will say that I would have paid higher for her services and she’s totally worth it. I wasn’t as thrilled with my last experience after a few months and wanted to try someone new. I am SO glad I did!
I arrived at my appointment and Susan was super friendly and had great conversation to get to know me and not just be strictly business (with that being said, she is 100% professional and truly an expert with what she does, but it was nice that it felt like a friendship from the first few minutes). She was focused, thorough, and gave me suggestions with what would look the best on me (I had wanted a darker color after seeing one of her Insta posts of one of her clients, and she listened to my needs and wants and explained to me what her expert opinion was, which of course I ended up agreeing with her - she has been doing this for 7 years, she’s the pro, not me). She walked me through the aftercare process and follow up appointment in 4-6 weeks and made sure I understood everything as to not mess up my brows before the touch up.
I am so happy with Susan that I will be a forever client of hers. Her salon room is super private and quiet in the back of the salon and it is very clean, welcoming (she put a large pillow cushion under my legs/feet when I laid down- great hospitality!) and really made sure I was comfortable as she walked me through each step as she did my brows. Time flew by. It didn’t hurt a bit. You won’t feel it after she puts numbing stuff on and the only thing you can tell that it’s being done is that with the microblading you can hear a faint, quiet little sound that sounds similar to a gentle/light scratching sound so you know she is doing it (because you won’t feel it being done).
If you’ve read this far, hopefully you will book Susan for your beauty needs and can stop comparing salons/estheticians or trying to decide on who to trust with your brows. Don’t worry, I did all the research on the best places to go to in St. Louis and I cannot recommend Susan enough. She is so kind and caring and has a great work ethic. She is passionate about what she does and it shows. Every part of my experience with Susan, from the initial conversations to when she walked me out the door when I left, was 5 star top-notch service.
I will edit my review in 5-6 weeks after my touch up appt. and when my brows are healed. Check back if...

Three years ago, I was ONLY going to observe my bestie get her eyebrows microbladed (a referral by her emcee at her wedding). The microblader name to fame was that she was a makeup artist for the local Vietnamese news station. There were so many signs prior to just be a supporter, but I caved in. She freestyled and just penciled what she would micro blade in. Which looked great at the time. We left her home with more confidence and bigger smiles until we were greeted by my besties husband, he laughed hysterically and said our eyebrows look like caterpillars. We were convinced he didn't know any better and once it heals we will look like a million bucks. That night I went home and tried removing some of the ink with make up remover. It did disappear some, but not enough. A week later, it had scarred most of my eye brows and with my light complexion I had a 5'oclock shadow that wouldn't go away. It crushed me because my face is like my billboard and always getting compliments on my complexion, but now I was getting strange looks from family and friends. It was like Charlie Chapmen's signature mustache but I had 2 on my eyebrows. No arch, no definition and no more self confidence.
A year later, on a trip to Vietnam another friend wanted to get a touch up on her eyebrows she had tattooed 10 years ago, so I was determined to have my catapillars removed. Like they say, it hurts more getting it removed, but I was willing to take the pain of getting rid of the caterpillars once and for all!
Three months after getting back from my Vietnam trip, I was referred by my brother to Suku. I was following her on IG and trusted her since she was working with all these beautiful structures of face frames. She could help me! I was shocked to find she was using a tool to measure the distance of my eyebrows and contour the microblading according to my face frame. Every precise stroke that Suku makes looks like a hair stroke! Very light on her hands and not feeling smothered. Au natural look with an arch to match my face frame and the right color for my skin tone. My eyes look stunning whether I want to jump in the lake for a swim, out running errands or going to an elegant dinner. It has saved me so much time and it has been low maintenance as well.
I'm a superfan to Suku for the confidence she has brought back onto my billboard again and getting complements and not strange looks anymore! ...
Read moreSusan was prompt to respond & super informative leading into my first session. This was the prime factor in choosing her for my microblading service. Personally, I am extremely particular / protective of my brows...therefore I did thorough research prior to deciding. Susan made me feel welcome, comfortable & shared valuable insight via phone so I knew I’d be in good hands.
My actual appointment was set about a month out (likely due to scheduling demands or COVID-19) either way if gave me time to research & prepare even more. Once my appointment day arrived the establishment was CLEAN, SAFE & FRIENDLY!!! All very important to me as a client. Susan was just as sweet in person, I was greeted with a temp check, face mask & smeyez (eye smile). The procedure itself was painless; of course there’s a numbing agent however I didn’t feel pain during or after. Healing time was minimal (maybe 3-5 days). Compliments come on a very regular basis and I couldn’t be more happy with my choice in SUKU Beauty for microblading. My beautiful brows are set for the next 12 months & I don’t worry about how wearing a mask compromises my beauty but my brows paint an...
