ALDI — Local services in Lafayette

normally, i love aldi. i work for instacart and when i get aldi orders i'm usually excited, but this aldi disappointed me today. i gathered all the items i needed for the order and went to checkout. they didnt have self checkout which was fine so i went to the only cashier. he was working today (11-7-23) at 11am. i think he needs to go through training again on how to NICELY handle customers. he was rude and unprofessional. he rushed me through the items and when my card was having a little trouble he snatched it out my hand and started to do it himself. i also told him i wasnt sure how many bags i was gonna need, and he got aggravated and made me pay for six. i didnt need 6, so now i have to deal with possible issues with my job because of one bag and an upset customer because she has a paid for, unused bag. normally the workers at aldi are so kind and helpful! this one was not. please pay close attention to your workers, nobody in that line needed to be treated with that kind of disrespect. i watched him be that way with 3...

Before I posted this review, I read other recent reviews. Thought what happened was maybe me being oversensitive. No, I was not, because another shopper, posted the same experience.

Shopped at Aldi yesterday on Louisiana Ave. The Cashiers are never friendly; however, they have never been rude. Yesterday I experienced both, not friendly and rude. Note, there was no one behind me in line. The first item she scanned was a bag of chips and she threw them in the basket like someone was throwing a football. It surprised me and I blurted out, "hey wait, why are throwing my chips so hard in the basket"? I was not loud or mean about it. She stared at me as she continued to scan my other items. When she scanned the last item, she very slowly put it in the cart and said, Is that good enough for you? She then said, It's all about efficiency you know. At this point I'm thinking something is seriously wrong with this woman. I just smiled and said thank you.

Earlier this week I went to this store and had a bad experience. An employee was training another employee in front of the cheese where I needed to go and acted like I was in their way! Then at checkout I had an item that didn't have price and they could not scan it. This same guy came up to the register and said they couldn't sell me the item!! He said if they can't scan it, they can't sell it! I have never had a store refuse to sell any item before!! He walked away with it and took the others off shelf and said they shouldn't have been put out. This was second time dealing with rude employees at this location. Very upsetting since I have always loved Aldi's! Guess it best to avoid Louisiana Avenue Aldi's! They need to learn...
