GameStop — Local services in Lafayette

This Store is TRASH. I never give reviews, but the subject came up. A few months ago I went to this store to buy a used PS4, I have a PS5 but their are certain games I still play on PS4, I got home and the PlayStation was basically doing the same thing I need to purchase another (the Blue Ray drive didn't recognize the disc) So I had to drive all the way over there go thru all the motions,waste another hr and a half, to get another machine. I get home and this console has issues. The controllers don't turn off unless I'm practically touching the console. So this tells me THIS STORE DOES NOT REALLY GO THROUGH THE CONSOLES BEFORE RESELLING THEM. Im going downt to waste my time again. I fact I canceled my membership with I've had for almost 20+ yrs and will NEVER DO business with game stop again. I took the console out back put a Pyle of black powder on it and shot it with a flaming arrow from my bow. Sent it where it belongs. (To say the less I was pissed 😡) I eventually bought another used console from Play n Trade and I've had no problems what so ever. I collect old consoles from Master System to Neo Geo..I used to work for EA back in California. Play N Trade has just a better vibe, the offer more services ,I e repairs ect, the also have a small Japanese import section witch I grabbed a few cartridges for my Genesis. How this company is still around is beyond my knowledge, but I do have to say thanx to the wonderful associates at this store for pushing me to a better place to spend money on shit I don't need because I have nothing else...

I called this location and they told me that they would accept both of my consoles. Got there and the guy at the register (Bryan) was super rude and inpatient with the person in front of us because they were using a gift card. Then we get to the register and the cashier instantly is frustrated with us because I didn’t wipe down the screen of one of my consoles (which was not bad at all) and I told him that at least I cleared the console and reset it and he made the comment “oh so make me clean it” and then sees the other console that they told me on the phone they accepted and said “we don’t accept that one.” okay fine. Then rudely tells me to take my console games out of the case myself because they don’t take the cases and watched me take the games out instead of helping or being nice about it. Then the console didn’t turn on, I informed him that I charged it three days ago and it must’ve died. He said “oh that’s not a good sign” and then plugged it in and it turned on right away. He never told us how much he was offering us, had us sign and said here’s $80.50 and that was it. The amount of disrespect this man showed myself and in front of my child was unnecessary. Definitely never going back again, because of this Gamestop has lost...

Didn't find anything I was looking for and this location is so small. (IS it smaller than other GameStops?) I was looking for a specific Funko Pop! and it seemed like their stock was kind of outdated and repetitive. I browsed the shelves for fifteen minutes before a sales associate even spoke to me. I prefer driving to Opelousas' GameStop. Better selections and more room to move around. Plus, sales staff is much more polite. Probably won't return to this location unless I've ordered something online to pickup at...
