THEY HAD ME AT “HOOSIER TEXMEX!” GREAT FOOD SELECTION, I REALLY ENJOYED THE DEEP FIRED CHICKEN STUFFED AVOCADO. THE CHIPS AND SALSA WERE VERY GOOD. THE PLACE WAS WELL PATRONIZED WITH AN AVERAGE AGE GROUP ABOVE THE COLLEGE LEVEL CUSTOMER. A VERY DIVERSIFIED AGE GROUP WITH BOTH GENDERS BEING WELL REPRESENTED. MY WIFE AND I ARRIVED ABOUT 7:00PM AND WERE ABLE TO GET ONE OF THE FEW REMAINING SEATS - AWAY FROM THE POTENTIALLY DRAFTY FRONT DOOR. THE WAIT STAFF WAS VERY ATTENTIVE AND HELPED US AS AN OLDER COUPLE FEEL COMFORTABLE AND AT “HOME.” THE MEALS WERE VERY WELL PRICED AND THE ADULT BEVERAGES WERE VERY DIVERSIFIED AND TASTY. MY MARGARITA WAS VERY EASY TO DRINK AND IT WENT DOWN WELL. MY SECOND BEVERAGE OF A PEACH BURBON /TEA BLEND WAS VERY DELICIOUS AND DESERVED ANOTHER. AFTER A BIT, BEING MY FIRST TIME AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT, I STARTED TO FEEL AS IF I WAS LIVING WITHIN A “SALVADOR DALI” ACTIVE ART PIECE. MAYBE IT WAS THE BURLY BEARDED MALE DRESSED IN THE MINI SKIRT OR THE OTHER DASHING “ACTORS” THAT STARTED TO APPEAR ON SET OR AROUND THE FRONT OF THE BAR. WHEN THE ACTIVITY OF THE NIGHTLY BINGO STARTED I FOUND IT JOYFUL AND REFRESHING TO BE PLAYING BINGO AS AN ADULT. FILLING MY ALLOTTED CARD PROPERLY AND DECLARING A “BINGO” I WALKED UP TO THE FRONT OF THE SCENE AND WAS AWARDED MY BINGO PRIZE OF A SHIRT THAT PROUDLY STATED “EAT, SLEEP & BURBON” FROM THE JIM BEAM DISTRIBUTOR. THE EVENING WAS THROUGHLY ENJOYABLE AND IT MADE QUITE A MEMORY FOR A VALENTINE EVENING DATE NIGHT WITH MY WIFE. BEING OLDER, WE COULD NOT STAY MUCH LATER AND WE LEFT PRIOR TO THE OPENING OF THE FLOOR SHOW WHICH I SUPPOSE WAS TO BE SOME KIND MALE/FEMALE RENDITION OF A DANCE CLUB PARTY. THE PLACE WAS A VERY HIGH ENERGY ATMOSPHERE AND IT LOOKED LIKE DURING THE HOTER SUMMER MONTHS A WALL SECTION MAY HAVE BEEN OPENED WITH SOME TYPE OF A HUGE GARAGE DOOR TYPE OF ENTRANCE WAY. IT WAS VERY DIFFERENT, ENTERTAINING, CASUAL BUT A SAFE KIND OF A PLACE. I WAS RELAXED AND DID NOT FEEL THREATENED OR UNEASY. IT IS DEFINITE WORTH A TRIP BACK TO TRY SOME MORE OF THEIR “HOOSIER TEXMEX” OFFERING. GREAT NIGHT, LOOKING FORWARD TO OUR...
Read moreOur first time here and the food was good, but our service was awful. According to the receipt, our waitress’ name was Sal.
She was rude to our entire party. Aside from slamming our glasses on the table, she did not check how our food was once it was brought out, didn’t once ask if anyone needed any beverage refills, and had a nasty disposition towards us during our entire meal.
My wife ordered a coffee and she didn’t bring cream or sugar. She didn’t even ask if we wanted it. When my wife asked for cream with her coffee, it never came, and she had to ask again. When it finally came, the waitress dropped it on the table like it was a dog bowl.
I had to ask an entirely different waitress for a refill because our waitress never bothered to stop at our table once our drinks and food were brought to us.
When we went to pay, the receipts were incorrect and when questioned she rudely stated, “well I didn’t do that.” Well, we weren’t accusing you of making the mistake, we just want the correct receipts...
In the service industry, you treat people with respect, check to ensure their meal is good, and make sure they’re properly served. That was not the case here and it’s a shame that an otherwise good meal was ruined by a rude and...
Read moreLet me begin by saying that the Dive is not what it was. My fiance and I were regulars and would frequent there on Sunday brunch. We loved everything about the establishment, food was fantastic, wait staff was very cordial and prompt, and the mix of locals and students was just right. Most don't know what changed. This is long after going through the days of the covid shut down. The dive changed hands and began changing the hours. Each post from the dive page was a different reason for being closed. We would go to have our dinner together and find they were closed a lot! Then Brunch was canceled. The menu even got smaller as if it was another covid shutdown. We are sad to see this place deteriorate but I guess it happens. I would have given 5 stars in all categories last year and the years before. Whatever the formula was it worked. But sadly this business quite literally has...
