Earthbound Trading Co. — Local services in Lafayette

04/02/25 - My wife and I were feeling bored, so we decided to visit the mall to take a nice leisurely walk. We checked out a few stores before entering Earthbound Trading Co.

I typically don't frequent this store, as I don't require anything from here. I did not even know it existed or how long it’s been here. In fairness I don’t shop the mall. Like I said, we were bored.

What struck me initially was the enthusiasm exhibited by Mason upon our arrival. Unlike the representatives at JD, Zumiez, and fye, he was the sole employee to greet us. Notably, Mason was not preoccupied with his phone or engaging in conversation with his coworkers. He was alert and working by the register.

Once Mason saw us he stopped what he was doing, and he approached us warmly. After greeting us and making us feel welcomed, Mason took the time to explain the store's layout, pointing out the locations of sales and clearance sections.

The music was upbeat and not too loud that it pounded in your ears. It was a variety of peaceful artists. Which I’m glad for because my wife had a great time in there.

They have a huge selection of a variety of items from men’s and women’s clothing, jewelry, books, bags to decorations, and too many other items to mention.

While my wife was shopping Savannah walked out from the back. She greeted us as she headed to the front.

I went up to ask Mason a question and he did not seem put out. He was happy to answer all my questions and when he didn’t know the answer Savannah jumped in. These two make a good team.

Meanwhile my wife was stocking up on many items when she decided to try on an outfit. They have a dressing room for your convenience.

When another customer entered the store, Mason walked over and provided them with the same exceptional customer service he had afforded us. His sincerity was genuine.

My wife was paying for her stuff she found on the clearance section when Savannah offered her a bag. My wife loves bags so she took advantage of the BOGO offer. Great up sale by Savannah 😁 I hope Mason and Savannah receive recognition from management for their outstanding customer service.

On my next search for a gift for my wife I intend to visit Earthbound and request assistance from Mason or...

The employees are incredibly uncoordinated. One of the cashiers set a hoodie down on the counter. We went to buy a shirt on clearance for around $8 and we were rung up around $52 because they scanned the $44 hoodie that was previously laying there (that was not ours). They also did not tell us the total and we only found out that we were charged $52 because we saw it on the card machine. They refunded us for the hoodie but now we will not receive the money back on the card for a few days which is very inconvenient. The cashier also lied about clarifying it with us even though they never mentioned scanning the hoodie. They could’ve easily stolen $44 from us without...

They frequently change or move around their merchandise, so even with how often I find myself there, it feels new (though they're very consistent with their stock). Great place for crystals, introductory guide books, dream catchers, incense, jewelry, and other accessories, but I shy away from their proper clothes section. It's small part of what the store has to offer but it's expensive, unlike the other things in the store which are more reasonable. Overall, a great store, but one you should be careful in so you dont rack up a big bill. ...
