Kwik Stop Markets — Local services in Lafayette

UNACCEPTABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.My wallet was left at Kwik Stop Tuesday, November 3rd at 11:45am.I am afraid I lost it in the parking lot or in the store. Unfortunately I had 600 dollars cash in my wallet when it was misplaced. That evening I went to the store to look for the wallet and ask the clerk if they had seen it. The cops alerted me to look through the dumpster and throughout the parking lot. I did not find it after looking thoroughly. A couple days later on Friday the 6th I go back to Kwik stop and ask if they heard anything or found anything and to please help. Two hours later I get a phone call saying my wallet was found in the dumpster by the clerk but with no cash. Which I thought was really odd because I looked thoroughly through the dumpster. Why would someone steal all the cash and then dump it in a dumpster right next to the store? I filed a report with police officer and he said to get security footage from the store. I asked repeatedly for footage and the clerk said he couldn’t get the password that day and had to talk to the manager. After also asking repeatedly for the managers contact information, the clerk said he will have the manager look at it Monday.(still did not give me that information) I show up to the store on Monday, and the same clerk says that the memory in the security video is only good for 4-5 days... So they couldn’t view the footage. Am I the only one who thinks this suspicious? If it was the case that memory wipes every 4 days, wouldn’t they try to help me on Friday to get the video? Or is it just a lack of caring for a customer? Or did one of the clerks take the money? Looking for any advice...

I have been coming to this convenience since I was a middle schooler at Stanley at 11 years old. I have been a loyal customer and likely given this establishment hundreds of hard earned dollars throughout my life.

Unfortunately after my experience tonight I will never be back. I tried to buy a couple of brewskies as I have here many a time before, but tonight there was a rather unpalatable clerk who refused both me and my friends real California ID even though we are well into our 20’s and offered to provide multiple other ways of identity verification. He told me to drive home and come back with my passport otherwise he would chase us out of the store.

I have never felt so utterly disrespected in my entire life of buying alcohol. If I could give 0 stars I would and I will pray to Jesus Christ every night for the rest of my life that the management of this store changes entirely.

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, I remember the owner, great place has it all, and keeps updated with the times while keeping the classic favorites! Lots of drink options, always fresh, great soup and chips as well as sweets options, open during most times which is perfect to stop by on a hot summer night for a drink or ice...
