EPIC BAD SERVICE! We made a 6 pm reservation through OpenTable and arrived on time. We were seated right away which was nice, and then we waited... and waited... and waited. when the waiter did find his way to our table it was only because two older ladies that had been seated before us waved him over after several attempts. She asked if he forgot about them. He then rudely told her he has this table, that table, and that table, that all needed drinks, while pointing around the room. After taking their drink order he finally came to our table. We ordered drinks, one glass of wine, and one draft beer. And then we waited... and waited... and waited! finally, after we had been seated for 20 minutes our drinks arrived and another waiter came to our table and said "I see you have been waiting a long time, can I take your order? My beautiful and always gracious girlfriend told them that the older ladies next to us have been waiting longer. 'Oh, thank you the guy says and turns to take their order. He then turns back to us and asks what we would like to order. As we begin to order, our original waiter comes over and says "I got this". At that point, the helpful waiter shrugged his shoulders as if to say "I'm sorry" and walked off. After taking our order the guy disappears. literally does not come back! after being seated for 45 minutes, finishing our drinks, and getting no food we walked up to the hostess table gave them money for our drinks, and walked out! There are plenty of good restaurants in Lafayette. Don't waste your time...
Read moreIt was Sunday and we wanted a nice hot lunch. Concerned that they may only serve brunch on Sunday, and not seeing any indication on their website, I called Metro and asked. I was told that I could order from both the Brunch menu and the lunch menu. When we arrived and were waiting to be seated I asked if I could look at the lunch menu while waiting and was told that they only serve brunch on Sunday. When I told the hostess that I had called 15 minutes before and was told that they also served lunch she just said "sorry". We decided to stay. I didn't want breakfast and I didn't want a sandwich and there were only a couple of hot items on the menu so I ordered the fish and chips. The chips were great. The fish, which was cod, was about the worst I have ever had. It had a nice crispy crust but the fish was completely mushy. The staff were all very friendly but inexperience. Our waiter could not even pronounce Evian when we ordered water, let alone Gruyere when my wife ordered the cheeseburger. I am not complaining about that because he was so nice and everybody has to learn, right? Side note: They must make a really good Bloody Mary because almost every table had them. Maybe we will go back and try lunch or dinner or maybe not. There are just so many good places to...
Read moreI left the house for Chipotle, only to find that it closed early for some reason. I was still starving so I looked across the parking lot and saw a strange building with liquor bottles in the window. The fromt facade looked like a department store for something like hardware, but once inside I was in awe at how beautiful the space was. The bartender answered my dumb questions about what the food because I was unaware of the local fish, but he was very kind and polite and knowledgeable about the menu. I later overheard him mention that this evening was his first night as bartending, which was unbelieveable because of his knowledge and passion for the menu.
Now, the food. As you can see from my pictures, I was blessed with a proper meal. I had the Petrole Sole with brussel sprouts and I thought my mother had cooked the food because it was so amazing and authetic. I had no clue what petrole sole was, but the waiter explainef it so eloquently that i had to try it. Boy was I blessed that evening. While i watched LeBron James destroy the TrailBlazers last night, I ate Metros amazing food. Please give this...
