Went in for the first time a little bit ago, all I wanted was some top loaders and penny sleeves. Looked around, couldnāt find the top loaders or penny sleeves. Waited about 5 minutes before anyone even helped, owner told me the top loaders were on a shelf and pointed. I got the top loaders, waited another 5 minutes while every other worker stood around. I finally got asked what I needed by another worker. I asked if they had anyone one piece packs, guy couldnāt hear me for some reason so the other worker 8 feet down had to rudely say āno, we have none.ā After this experience I said Iād never come back.
Ended up going back a few days ago because this is the only place in town that sells one piece singles and I figured Iād give it another chance. Surprisingly I got help the moment I walked in. I then asked about pricing for some of the singles and everything was going fine for the most part until maybe I asked for pricing too many times on the singles since most of them arenāt listed. He started getting frustrated which I could only assume is because he canāt go back to his precious tv show that he was watching. I asked if they do trades for singles and he said no not for one piece and then I showed a new journey together pokemon card that goes for about $30 on tcg and then he immediately said no, weāll pass on that in a rude way. I ended up leaving with two one piece packs and two cards but I probably will never come back to this store.
This shop prices well above tcg market prices and screws over casual hobbyists. Charging $8 for the bottom of the barrel one piece packs is ridiculous when the booster boxes for a 24 pack go for $90 on average. Some of the etbs and pokemon packs are also way overpriced. Save your money and buy off of tcg player or go to any other card store in Lafayette. Every other shop employees are way nicer than any of the guys here. Castle Comics has pokemon cards at a way more decent price. If this place had nicer employees and the prices were fair, it wouldnāt be a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat place, even for being fairly new. I'm new to the area so I was driving around all day to try and see if there were any stores that I could become a regular shopper for. The owner was far more welcoming than the other stores I had checked out, where they looked like the barely wanted me in their store but he was willing to talk and tell me a little about the business.
Prices: Far more fair than the other options in the area. I had just come back from looking at around 2-3 more stores, and their listings for their booster boxes and other product were far higher than retail, some products being even double what could be found online. Legion Collectibles was far fairer in comparison, with prices not exactly matching online, but close enough that I was wiling to chalk it up to being a physical store instead of an online big-name retailer.
Product: Their selection of options was a little sparse, but as I talked to the owner I learned that the business had just opened up less than 3/4 a year ago, so they were still gradually expanding while still partaking in the hobby themselves. Definitely have faith that this store will grow, and see myself being a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe store it self is great and the owner is very friendly. With that being said the man who sells the sports cards sold me multiple psa graded cards. After bringing them home and checking prices, I find out they were fake, there is absolutely nothing on PSAās website tying the cards to being graded. Iām a new collector and not knowledgeable at all. I just feel very taken advantage of. I would avoid the sports cards and buy from another local store. **Edit: The store owner reached out to resolve the issue as soon as seeing the review, that brings my 2 star review into a 5. Excellent service thank you.Edit #2: I have gone in multiple times the past couple months and walked out empty handed, all of his prices are are set at scalper prices now. He asks for almost 50% more than tcgplayer asks and that doesnāt include the 13% sales tax...
