When my husband and I began the journey into our complete home remodel I was very excited about working on the design elements. I quickly realized that I was in over my head and needed help. A friend recommended Jessica at Douglah Design. I had been in their gorgeous showroom and truthfully my first thought was we probably couldn’t afford this type of upscale design firm. Although I was skeptical, I made an appointment with Jessica to get an understanding of the cost and their design process. Jessica really listened to ALL of my ideas and desires for our home. She came up with a budget that was extremely reasonable based on the amount of work involved.

Jessica was very detailed and professional throughout the process. She designed every room in our home keeping my design esthetic in mind and created a home that truly reflects our style. She managed all of the logistics from ordering the materials which included plumbing, lighting, tile and hardware. She also provided my contractor with a binder that has all of the elevations and material specifications. Whenever my contractor has a question he simply has to refer to the project home binder for answers.

Wow! This company is night and day from the rest. I had them redo one of my bathrooms about 5 years ago. I was very busy and didn't have time to get too involved but wanted it to look nice. It sure does. The process was seamless and the outcome lovely and they took such great care with my home and it didn't ever feel intrusive.

Fast forward to 5 weeks ago. We are having our other bathroom redone. I went with a different company because I was thinking the price with Douglah Designs was too high. UGH! What a MISTAKE. I would have probably paid 15% more if I went with Douglah, but the difference in quality is significant. The PM on this job has dropped so many balls that I have been managing the project myself which is so time consuming and stressful. The house is a mess, they aren't cleaning up when they leave, they are cutting corners and I'm getting gaslit when I try to mention it. All of this to say, you do get what you pay for.

The outsourced Designer I was working with, was not at all helpful sourcing materials which left the project taking longer. I immediately called Luxe Home and Julie helped me source some wonderful materials for the project quickly, to keep the project on schedule. Luxe Home by Douglah Designs led by their CEO Leila is an outstanding organization. Leila and her team renovated my home in Walnut Creek in 2021 during the pandemic. This project involved renovating 3 bathrooms, changing floors, interior doors, painting the interior of the house and upgrading to meet today’s building codes. The house was built in 1974. Despite all the challenges the pandemic presented for everyone, the team at all levels showed great deal of attention to detail knowledge and ability to explain complex situations so the ordinary people like us understand it, they guided us through this big emotional and financial investment to make the best decision possible considering our limited budget. The team were also reliable met their commitments and timelines. Their professional demeanor and consideration in working at our home understanding that we are also working from home at the time due to the pandemic by giving us advanced notice when demolition was happening so we can coordinate accordingly. I also wanted to highlight that their project management process was so valuable so it worth the spend. They took care of everything A to Z which enabled us to carry on with life worry free.
