Went for an early dinner and ordered a Cucumber Elderflower Cooler to begin; when drink arrived there were green ‘floaters’ so I asked for another and the second also had ‘floaters’, but I ignored them because didn’t want to be ‘one of those…’ even though I already felt like one and I drank anyway and as the drink itself was delicious I really wanted another drink, but feel like their ice machine needs a thorough cleaning. We then started with a ‘roasted’ Artichoke. When arrived, it was a cut-in-half Artichoke placed on a plate with a side of aioli. The Artichoke itself was not dressed and looked like a drowned rat. It is advertised as roasted and it both looked and tasted like it was HIGHLY over-boiled, cut-in-half, then placed quickly on a grill for ‘hash-marks’. The aioli itself was not very flavorful; the dish as a whole lacked any pizazz.
Mains ordered were Capellini and Eggplant Parmesan with a side of Polenta. Capellini was given as ‘ok’; couldn’t get much more as that’s all they could come-up with descriptively. Eggplant Parmesan was undercooked and had a strange ‘after-taste’. All that said the Polenta was excellent! Creamy, flavorful and a perfect amount of truffle oil! Excellent! Also excellent was our Waiter who I sincerely apologize don’t remember their name other than it was a male with an beautifully unusual name starting with an ‘H’. So “Thank you ‘H’! We really appreciated your kindness and attentiveness!” These two last items is why we gave it 3 Stars. Otherwise it would...
Read moreVery busy on Wed night when we went for our 10th anniversary. We were only 2 and they had a table for us without a reservation. Despite the crowd we were served our drinks and apps pretty quickly. Drinks were good - I had a cucumber and mint vodka iced drink that I had them turn into a martini version (no ice) - very good. Bf had the chipotle margarita which was great. For apps we had the mushroom truffle "fries" which were really good. We also had the artichoke with an aioli, but both were a bit bland - both could use salt and pepper (and I don't need a lot of salt). For main course, I had the seafood "stew" with white wine sauce and toast - it was good and both were really tasty. My bf had the rabbit pasta dish (our first time having rabbit) - it was pretty rich, flavorful, and cooked well. It had a stroganoff vibe, I liked it and my bf loved it. Our staff member Brian was really cool and attentive- he's been there for many years. Another gentleman was attentive to our dishes and was very nice as well. Attentive and caring service made up for the artichoke Lol, hence...
Read moreIf you ever want to feel what it was like to be a person of color in the south go have dinner at postinos as said person of color. We were seated in front of the entryway and though we had reservations and the restaurant was 30% filled were told there were no other available seats. Interestingly enough other couples were seated near the fireplace and even in seats that were meant for 4 instead of 2 and one couple that asked to be moved just as my husband and I did were easily relocated. As if the blatant discrimination wasn't enough we weren't even made aware of any specials as it seemed everyone else within earshot was as soon as the waiter arrived at their table. Again funny enough this was the same waiter that my husband and I also shared. It's unfortunate that a restaurant like this would display such a horrible lack of customer service but in these unsettling times is just another sign of the divisive rhetoric that is now...
