Roger's — Local services in Lake City

Ordered plexiglass at 9:35 am for even pick up. Was NOT ready. After a long wait, they "found it". I tried to get a gallon of dark brown or black paint. I spent almost 2hrs going through various shades to be told they didn't have the right base for it. I was also told they only had white paint in the store and EVERY color had to be mixed, even black. I finally found 4 quarts of Black on my own. I told them the price I was quoted for the plexiglass and I paid for it all. They loaded it in my car and I went to the job site. Once I retrieved the box, I find an entire box of vinyl light covers. I called the store and spoke to the man that loaded it. He put me on hold for over 10mins and then the phone hung up. I called back and spoke to 3 different people, explaining each time. I was told several times to go to HOME DEPOT OR LAKESIDE ACE in Cadillac. I was finally told bring it back tomorrow and we will refund your money and we can ORDER you plexiglass. NOT A CHANCE!!! I WILL GO GET MY MONEY and NEVER RETURN TO THE STORE! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE! Don't pre-order your items expecting to have them. Get names of any & every person you deal with. You will be asked repeatedly. I can't help but feel that Roger's takes advantage of this small town. Especially of those of us who can't drive, who are on disability, and have no choice but to shop here. I have a condition, that has only let me eat one meal a day for 5 years now. Among the foods I can eat are pears. I just spent $98 for 3 bags of fresh pears. At $4.99 a pound! The same type/brand of pear is $1.99 a pound at Meijer, and Anjou pears at Walmart AND Meijer are $1.32 a pound. I did the Math! 3 bags of fresh pears from Meijer, the same pears, would be around $40! 3 bags of fresh pears from Walmart, would be about $28! Price difference being about $40-$50 more at Rogers for the same product!? How is that okay or even legal? I'm so frustrated, being on disability doesn't have much financial give, and I can't drive with my conditions, and being on your own, doesn't leave many options. I'm grateful that LC finally has a grocery again...but the price difference is overwhelming...

Think I get points if I write a review. Even more points if it is long. Sooooo.... Roger's is a very expensive grocery store. On a positive note, they have food. They have milk and cheese and yogurt. They have flour and sugar and baking soda. They have soup and pasta and pudding. They have vegetables! Frozen, fresh, and canned. They have fruit too. That also comes fresh, canned, and frozen. To be honest, I waited in the parkinglot in the warm truck. I'm just sharing the info that was given to me. I bet the owners are great folks and the employees are super friendly. I don't know for sure but I assume. My family used the self checkout and it kept messing up. They said that sucked. It was probably just operator error though.
