After visiting this location over a handful of times we will not be giving them our business again. We attempted to go skating as a group of 5 (3 adults and 2 kids) on Friday. There were some smaller day care groups when we arrived but the skating area was not crazy. After only about 20 minutes of skate time, a much larger group of older daycare kids arrived (40-50kids). At this time, safety became a huge concern for my family. Kids were darting across the skate floor as fast as they could. The were skating backwards and all around. Kids were being knocked over including my own kids. We saw other parents complain about what was happening. We asked the employee to please have someone come out to monitor the floor and make sure skate rules were known by all which he did but as soon as he left the floor, the madness started again. We decided that because of the lack of any employees on the floor and nothing being done to supervise by the establishment, it was time to go. I spoke with the manager and asked for a refund as we only got to skate for less than half an hour due to safety concerns to which he responded “I don’t give refunds”. I explained that he should have employees on the skate rink like we have seen every time before when we have been there and because he wasn’t managing properly and safety was a concern to which he responded “accidents happen”. A completely unacceptable response for a manger and this is horrible customer service. Nowhere did I sign anything, see a sign, or see on my receipt that no refunds was their policy. He gave us some vouchers for less than a month to come back. He threw them at me as he quickly walked away. Very disappointing and hope the manager is worked with to better understand managing everyone safely as well as his customer...
Read moreI was born and raised in Lake City and went to the skating rink every Friday. It's about about 20 years since I've been here but my daughter's (ages 11 and 4 yr old twins) wanted to go so we took them on a Sunday hoping it wouldn't be too busy for my smaller kids to skate for the first time without all the bigger kids and adults that go. I figured a Friday or Saturday night would be the busiest. It had a good bit of people buy not too crowded. They have updated since I've been adding lots of arcade games and an air hockey table plenty to do for kids and adults who don't want to skate. The place itself was clean and the people working there are great. They play red light green light and limbo on the rink floor, my kids enjoyed it. They have a snack bar and walkers with wheels for the smaller kids or anyone uncomfortable skating on their own to use, you have to rent the walkers but worth it since it made me little less worried about my smaller kids falling and hurting themselves. They also have skate lessons on Saturday mornings for $10 a class which I find reasonable and you pay per class instead of worrying about a monthly cost. My girls are interested so we will check it out. Overall my girls had a great time and we look forward to going back. Also, for those parents who don't want to skate but have smaller kids that do, they kindly let me know when I was paying that it's all good to run out and get your child or help your child on skate floor without skates. I had to go out a couple times to help one of my twins while I was...
Read moreWe came for a birthday party. Upon entering, I was told I could not bring in my water that I brought from home in my reusable container. After some arguing, they finally let me bring it in.
None of the employees or any other guests were wearing masks. My husband and I, as well as our son, daughter in law, and two grandkids were the only masked guests.
They did not enforce the rule of "no skates on the second floor". The other party made it unsafe for everyone because they were climbing the stairs with their skates on and bumping into other guests.
The skate floor was very nice, level, and smooth. I really liked that they had PVC skate assists for rent with wheels for the kids to help them from falling. They did a good job of keeping the kids, who needed them, in the center of the floor out of the way of the regular skaters.
There were cards to purchase to play games that you could accumulate ticket points to turn in for prizes.
I did not visit the bathrooms so can't comment on that. Nor did I purchase any food or drink, which was available.
Parking was ample.
They only let the party folks skate from 2-4pm. They closed the rink at 4pm, which made the time for party, skating, eating, opening presents way too sparse. We had to open presents in the parking lot. No fun since it was very...
