First time trying Bob Evans. A friend had recommended it after noticing their new vegetarian skillet, so we went to give it a try.
Pros: Food was good and the veggie skillet had fresh veggies and good flavor!
Cons: Coffee was lacking any flavor. Waitress didn't even see us seated till the table behind us had to go find her to get their check so they could leave. We had been sitting waiting for her to come take our drink order for a good 15 minutes at that point. All of her tables were in the same area so pretty hard not to notice us there in between the tables she was already serving. She was very spacy and all over the place. Forgot many things for the table that was seated next to us that had arrived shortly after us. Took forever to get the check at the end for us too. Had to ask for it even thou we were clearly done and waiting. We had even stacked all of the dishes and trash at our table too. Placed our card with the check at the edge of our table and waited for her to take it. She walked by serving the 2 other tables around us a dozen times, several of the times she walked by she even looked at our card and said nothing to us about it. We finally spoke up as she was rushing by to another table that we were ready to pay. It was at that point she let us know we go up front to pay on our way out, not at the table. Would have been nice to know! We had been sitting waiting with our card for a while at that point! She had obviously seen the card sitting there too, so why not say something to us sooner?... we've never been there before so how would we know to get up to go pay? It wasn't obvious and there was no signage anywhere saying to pay up front. I did mention all the issues to the lady at the register on the way out. Even thou the food was decent, we won't be going back. Service is very lacking and they weren't even busy! I felt bad for the table next to is that had so many issues with their dishes - missing sides, wrong sides, missing silverware etc.
We had gone for brunch on a weekday so there's no excuse for her lack of attention. Very obvious all of her tables were expierencing the same issues. The hostess even came over to help the other table with all of their missing items. We saw a gentleman wandering around, likely the manager, but he wasn't paying any attention to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWOW!!! We stop at this location about every 45 days on our travels. Normally, service is good, and the food is good. Not this time. Upon arriving, there was a line, we were told 15-20 minutes, which turned into 40 minutes. While standing in the waiting area, we watched as food was prepared, placed under the heat lamps, and would sit for over 5 minutes before a waitress might come to get it. Food was backing and getting cold, and the kitchen was knocking out orders fast for customers! Due to the fact we had waited so long to be seated, we had read the menu's several times and knew exactly what we wanted, but when the server finally came to our table, rudely she asked of was wanted something to drink, when I explained we knew exactly what we wanted, she replied, she will be with us in a minute, and did we want drinks! Horrible service and purely disrespectful! She finally came back with drinks, her hands covering the top of our glasses! Disgusting!!! We are supposed to drink from a glass that she just rubbed her dirty hands on! Then, we waited 10 minutes for, then she left and came back for our order. Another 30 minutes goes by, and we finally get our warm to cold food! It had been sitting under the heat lamps so long, the gravy on my steak and potatoes had a skin on it. We did not receive our entire order and could not wait to leave 2hr 18min for an 11:30 brunch on a Saturday!!!
Beware, I don't know if management has changed or what, but we will not be returning here. The health department needs to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was utterly appalled about our visit to Bob Evans tonight. We walked in and (I believe her name was) Bianca told us they didn't have anything gluten free and did not have a gluten free menu. I told her that I guess I would look online. We were pushed to a table in the back and our waiter came over, Allen. He was extremely rude, but decided to look for a gluten free menu because he didn't know the other menu even. The menu was labeled 2019, so I looked online anyway. There was a lemon fish on their gluten "sensitive" menu and I asked what was in it, he didn't know... again. Apparently I was asking too many questions because Allen started waving his hand, like hurry up, hurry up. My daughter asked if they could swap the bananas for the piggy pancakes nose, with chocolate chips. Allen said "they are going to make it how they make it" and refused. I thought it was a simple request, but apparently not. My daughter was shocked and scared because he said it so rudely. When the fish arrived, I stupidly tried it (usually make my husband try it first) and there is definitely gluten in it. We tried to get Allen's attention, but he wasn't paying attention. We got Charles attention. This man was amazing. He offered to get me something else, brought my daughter extra bacon, then at the end told us that he'd take care of the bill because of the trouble that "they" caused. He's the reason I gave any...
