Rural King — Local services in Lake Wales

If you order online for in store pick up, forget about it. I tried to take advantage of online ordering for the curbside pick up, as what I purchased was a total weight of 80lbs. I spend alot of my money here and never had much of a problem....but it seems as though a pandemic changes how this store operates, giving them an excuse to be lazy. I spent a good half hour in a curbside spot, called the store multiple times, half the times I just got a busy signal,and the other half it just rang and rang and rang, nobody would answer. I contacted online customer service to cancel my order,and they told me they couldn't because my order was already picked, which I know is total BS. I specifically stated WHY I wanted to cancel my order, and instead of reaching out to the store themselves, I was told I had to call the store and tell them to cancel it. So at this point, if I want my money back, I have to waste more of my time and gas to physically go into the store and wait an hour for someone at customer service to give me my money back, or wait 14 days for them to automatically cancel it. I am incredibly frustrated at this point, and being as I can't get any help because nobody will answer the phone, I will never shop here again. Customer service is even more poor than it was before. This place doesn't deserve the business. If you can't follow through with curbside pick up, then stop advertising it all over the parking lot and in the store. What's really sad is, I saw another person waiting for awhile too. He was an older gentleman, which made me even more upset because he went in the store after awhile and ended up loading his own vehicle without any help. Senior citizens should not be doing that kind of heavy lifting. What if that was your Grandpa and he had a heart attack? That screams lawsuit if you ask me. Don't ever order online unless you have it shipped. If you call for curbside, good luck getting someone on the phone. If you contact customer support about an issue, they're just as lazy and will not help you in any way. Don't waste your time. This store used to be so awesome. Now it seems like they only hire lazy kids who don't have no work ethic who sit around while all the adults do all the work. It takes 2 seconds to answer the phone and ask someone how you can help them. I loved rural king, but now I'm disappointed to the point I won't...

• Well I really hate to sound like I am bashing this store chain because I do like Rural King. Needed a battery today for the vehicle assigned to our pilot so I naturally went to RK due to quality product and pricing. This is more a store manager and regional manager issue. You have a great selection of batteries in there but the batteries HAVE TO BE TAKEN OFF THE PALLETS AND PUT IN THE RACKS. Don't even try to give me a tobacco enema that it was just today and not always like that because I can start posting pictures. You are losing sales because your associates are not doing bv their job. Management is not doing their job by not ensuring that the batteries are being put in the racks. I should not be having to look through 7 PALLETS to try and find a 34-72 battery unfortunately I had to settle for a cheaper version. If the associate refuses to put them in the racks and isn't on light duty get rid of them, plain and simple. Heck I got a deal for you, since I am apparently the only person that has this issue how about I put the batteries in the racks and you give me an RK gift card? I bet the Regional manager would stroke out to find a customer putting up the stock because the employees are refusing to do their job.

** Not sure why this RK seems so much more disorganized compared to other RK stores. Was trying to find a good pair of 8 inch steel toe lace up boots and it felt like I was doing prep work for an Easter egg hunt. Boot section is an exercise in frustration! Just wow¡!¡ One of the most aggravating visits I have even endured. The store was total chaos. I took several pair of shorts into the fitting room, none of which were sized correctly to the hanger. You were out of cattle cubes. You had four loose, four fence stays. I called prior to driving all the way there before leaving my home in St.Cloud and was assured that both items were in stock. We also had planned on purchasing forty of the .99 chicks. But, there were no many sickly chicks (11 dead) and one very ill rabbit that we opted to pass on the chicks. We walked around, found a great deal on a fan which was clearly priced $14.99. Not! At the register the fan price was $54 dollars. The cashier proceeded to tell us” If you think your experience today was bad, you should read what the employees say about this location! She then proceeded to tell us a female manager was fired for giving away free merchandise. We enquirer about the male store manager “Doug” and was told that he to had been fired. Another associate told us he was transferred. Our neighbors, one a cattle ranch owner and the other, a blue berry farmer along with the wives attended this trip together. All riding separate vehicles so there would be plenty of room for our purchases. One of our group was interested in a gun to help cut back on the abundance of coyotes in our area. You were so short staffed he got tired of waiting and purchased nothing from your store. All six of us have very busy lives and businesses to run.
