Dollar Tree — Local services in Lakeport

I’ve been a frequent customer at this Dollar Tree location for quite a while, but my most recent visit was incredibly disappointing and unprofessional. One of the employees (I believed named Makayla I could be mistaken) gave me and my friend noticeable attitude for no clear reason and made the entire experience feel unwelcoming.

As someone who shops here regularly, I expect a basic level of courtesy and respect—nothing over the top, just common decency. Instead, my friend and I felt like a nuisance simply for asking a question. The employee’s tone was dismissive, and their body language clearly communicated that they didn’t want to be bothered.

Everyone has off days, but there’s a difference between having a rough shift and treating customers poorly. This kind of behavior is not only unprofessional—it reflects badly on the store as a whole. I truly hope management addresses this, because loyal customers shouldn’t be made to feel like they’re unwelcome.

I have had two experiences with employees since the new bag law went into effect. I was in yesterday and a big tall guy waited on me. He asked me if I needed bags and I told him no and put them on the counter. He proceeded to wring me up and never once bagged an item. When he gave me my receipt he went to talk to another customer. I asked him where in the new bag law does it say employees are not supposed to bag your items. He turned it on me and said I put the bags in the wrong place. What a lazy jerk. I called back about 4 minutes later and talked to the manager which was a woman. She said she would talk to him. I loaded up my cart with a bunch of Valentine's stuff... What it was was Valentine's boxes with cute ones inside that would be like going from large to medium(clearly they all went together) and then I got a couple bins that were three packs when I got up to the front to pay the rude cashier told me that they're all separate and I had to pay for each one individually including the three packs that were clearly marked with the band tape that said bonus 3 pack... it's not like I picked out the only boxes that were doubled together, they were all like that!
