I recently visited Southern Steer Butcher Shop in Lakeway, TX, and I have to say, it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the welcoming atmosphere and the sheer variety of top-quality meats on display. The manager Chris was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, taking the time to explain the different cuts and offering great cooking tips for each.

As I wrote in my review 9 months ago, this is a great butcher shop for all types of beef and chicken…. The staff there is amazing. Christopher, who I first met and wrote about 9 months ago, is incredibly knowledgeable and trims a great brisket. Chris (a different person) is always helpful and has great suggestions for their various rubs and sauces. I used the steak rub he suggested a few weeks ago on my Prime Rib roast I cooked last night. It added great flavor to my own concoction after 36 hours of brining.. that brings me to Lucy. She has cut me several beef tenderloins, porter house steaks, and the aforementioned Prime Rib. She trimmed it to the desired weight I needed and cut the bones away from the meat and tied them up for grilling.
