This place destroyed my flutes, which I paid to insure. They refuse to pay the insurance claim, and are going to great lengths to deny the claim. They do not care that they left me with severely damaged and unplayable instruments. They're not staying in communication with the claimant. They didn't even tell him the claim was denied or that any paperwork was missing for weeks, as a strategy to prolong this and make me give up.
UPS damaged my flutes, and this store, which sold insurance to the shipper, is making it very difficult. The manager acts helpful when you call, but he is ultimately trying to stave you off so that you don't keep calling and bugging him about the claim and it times out.
This is one of many negative reviews that will continue to cascade your way if you continue to deny treating my flutes inappropriately on your freight and won't agree to pay the claim. I'm not going away. If I have to, I will take this to litigation.
UPS destroyed my flutes and the UPS store is refusing to pay for it. The shipper was this UPS store, and they are trying every way imaginable to deny liability when my package was obviously abused.
Edit to add: They did end up paying. They are too slow to pay a claim for a musical instrument. Buying an insurance policy through them for a flute is just a bad idea. I should have gotten flute insurance, which covers shipping and pays quickly because it's designed to keep performers going. This is no such thing. It's a bad idea, and honestly, I wouldn't send flutes through UPS again now, knowing that they don't respect fragile handling, even when "DV: $3600" is written on the side of the box.
The timeframe was poor. And, I do believe I should have been allowed (as I AM allowed by UPS rules) to file my own claim, even as the receiver, because they were my flutes. I was lied to about this; they said only the shipper can file the claim, which is false. Look it up on UPS's website.
However, in the interest of not libeling this store, they did pay up... AFTER this google review. I take back nothing else, because it's all true. I was lied to, my flutes were abused, and UPS took way too long with this claim. Apparently "actively working" means "6+ weeks." However,...

First - the notary (guy with broken foot) requested that I fill out out his book and info for him. When I question why Im filling out HIS book for him he states āthats just how I do itā. I mentioned that it is never done like that at this store (or anywhere) he shrugs and gets snarky and says āwell am I supposed to sign it for you too?ā I state āno Im supposed to do that part, are you having a bad day man?ā
I still comment that he is doing it incorrectly and then the the guy decides to call me ālazyā because I simply didn't want to fill it out...are you kidding dude? The pain pills were clearly clouding your judgement...
Then I obviously start getting upset and raised my voice and in turn he pulls the passive aggressive āyour energy is upsetting meā. Well yeah my energy is called anger because you insulted me and you are being an entitled pompous jerk...
Longstory short I shoved the papers off the desk ( I realize I should not have done that) and we trade a few more barbs about how once again I'm lazy and my energy is horrible...
Maybe the kid was having a bad day but based on reading the below comments there is a systematic problem at this location.

Two different clerks assured me my package would arrive before 12pm on Saturday and I paid ALOT to have that be guaranteed as UPS does not typically deliver on Saturdays.

After waiting on hold with UPS customer service they explained that even though my transaction was in the morning, well within the next day air timeframe the store did not submit the ticket until 6:30pm and my package never even left the store until Saturday (the day it was supposed to be delivered)....I am beyond upset that they can't get a simple transaction correct.
