Orchard Hills Athletic Club — Local services in Lancaster

I’m really disappointed with what happened at Orchard Hills. Last night, I had a very uncomfortable and embarrassing experience with one of your employees, Danielle. She spoke to my son in a really aggressive and intimidating way at the basketball court. He went to play during the ALLOWED HOURS, but she started yelling at him in front of a lot of people, using inappropriate language and telling him to leave because the court wasn’t open for basketball yet—even though he was there at the CORRECT TIME. The way she yelled at him and embarrassed him in public was completely disrespectful and unprofessional.

When I tried to figure out what was going on, she was still worked up. It made me think: if she was this upset with me there as his mom, I can only imagine how she was acting when I wasn’t around. Several people saw what happened and how rude she was. On top of that, she made some RACIALLY INSENSITIVE COMMENTS, like asking where my son was from. To answer her unnecessary question: it’s none of her business where we’re from, but I can tell you this—wherever we’re from, we were taught to treat EVERYONE with respect!!!

I told another employee, Joe, about what happened. At first, he wasn’t very helpful, but later he talked to us and tried to understand the situation. He passed it on to the manager, Raj, who responded politely but didn’t really solve the problem the way he should have. This left me really frustrated. Of course, Danielle gave her side of the story, and of course, nothing was done. They just told us we were “OVERREACTING.”Seriously?? I asked for the camera footage from when it happened, but they didn’t provide it. They handled it internally and decided to drop it. Which makes me wonder: were the cameras even working? Because I know there have been times when they weren’t.

Anyway, I’m really disappointed with how everything was handled. I appreciate the manager getting back to me, but the way it was resolved felt SUPERFICIAL and INADEQUATE. So, if anyone has a problem in the future, don’t expect a fair resolution, because it doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen. The new ownership of Orchard Hills is terrible. He only cares about money. He dosent care about the wellbeing of the community, the children, or families. Hearing the new owners and staff say very inappropriate things about CHILDREN is simply disgusting. I would never ever send my child, my friends, my family, or even my worse enemy to Orchard Hills. Hearing the new owners and other employees saying that children that are just doing the sport they love aren’t “real athletes”, and hearing they are sick of seeing us “fake athletes” and that they would rather see anything else in that space then cheerleaders, infuriates me and many others in the community. The Orchard Hills website states that, “Orchard Hills isn’t just a club- it’s a community where everyone can thrive.” How is it a community that can thrive after you destroyed a 26 year legacy? How is it a community that can thrive when you destroyed the family of hundreds of ATHLETES ranging from aged 3-35? I hope the new ownership is happy knowing that they destroyed the dreams and family of hundreds of little girls and boys. I hope they are happy knowing that they destroyed a close built family, a legacy, a safe space for many, and everyone’s home. Not to mention the new staff members are straight up rude. Why am I at 21 years old being followed into the bathroom to be yelled at to walk on the basketball court? I thought you ran on a basketball court, but then again according to Orchard Hills I am a “fake athlete”. Nobody should be following anyone into the bathroom, never less waiting outside of my stall for me to come out. I have spent 4-7 days the past 8 years at Orchard Hills, and I have seen Orchard Hills rapidly decline since the new owner took over. I highly DO NOT recommend Orchard Hills. Not only is their pricing ridiculous, but they also clearly do not care about children, families, or the community. All they care about is money. And not to mention they take down all of the bad reviews and even took down all Facebook reviews as they were getting so many bad ones. Drive 6 minutes down the road to a place that actually cares about...

Sorry to post this. But this is so stressful . I was doing my exercise and this Amber is her name one of the trainer in this Athletics club. So dis respectful to me. I’ll tell you how! While I’m busy doing my exercise … she came to where I was and ask me to move different location because she wants to used the area where I’m at!!!! Like excuse me? I am using the area and why you have to kick me out? So I didn’t say anything because I was shocked to her attitude plus she gave me the looks. The looks like she’s mad at me for I have no idea what? Why she treated customer that way? Very rude to me . I believe we all wants to go to the gym to be fit and release our stress but not to give stress to other people right? Plus she works here @ orchard hills club. I am so sad about my experience in this area. To be fair to other good crew thank you . Plus this place was recommended to me from Waverley Oaks Athletic Club in Waltham where I used to be a member in this location for years .The manager told me that is is the good place to work out . I thought this is not until this experience I had. I never had this kind of experience in Waverly oaks club . People are so nice kind and friendly in Waverley . So so sad that I got treated like this in this area. She’s didn’t even know how to apologize for her actions. THIS IS A FITNESS CLUB NOT A STRESS CLUB. I DID NOT PAY TO GET STRESS OR BE TREATED LIKE THAT. WITHOUT APOLOGIZE ? People come to the gym to get fit and release the stress not to deal the stress of the Crew. This makes A bad look to this company .
