Great Giant Market — Local services in Lansing

I went grocery shopping yesterday and purchased $100 worth of meat. I purchased a rack of spareribs that claimed it was supposed to expire on the 10th and I didn’t notice anything weird at the store. When I got home I was putting the meat away I noticed that the ribs had a funny smell but I just thought it was because they were still a little bloody. I stuck the ribs in the fridge and pulled them out today to make for dinner, once I pull the plastic off I notice the pungent and bearing smell of rot and the back was super slimy. I contacted great giant to speak to someone to see if I could return and they requested me to bring a receipt. I don’t know about you but when I’m grocery shopping I don’t plan on returning anything so I don’t keep a receipt. So here I am after working hard all day coming home think I’m gonna make food for my family to notice the meat that I bought was rotten. I go here at least once a week to pick up items but I doubt I’m going to be returning after this incident. Having the wrapper with the expiration date and the meat uncooked and untouched should definitely be enough for me to be able to get my money back. 17$ of my hard earned...

I shop here a lot and today one of the security guys(older Hispanic guy with gray hair...not sure if he's Hispanic but he looks Hispanic to me) followed me around the whole store. I didn't want to assume that he was following me. But the moment I walked in he looked at me and walked behind me. Everywhere I went he was there. But still I didn't want to assume that he was following me. Well I went to check out and he went back up to the front and stared me down as if I was stealing. It made me feel so uncomfortable. I will no longer be shopping here. As soon as I left, I asked my husband who was also with me if he saw and felt what I did too. He said he noticed too that we were being watched and followed. So I called and made a complaint but I doubt that anything will happen. If you wanna shop peacefully and don't enjoy being watched and followed then I recommend you stay away from this place. The store is going through some wonderful changes and upgrades. The addition to the deli will be a great highlight. Shelves look great. Produce nice. Meat variety is above average. Butcher a plus. Even exotic meats in the freezer. All things Hispanic are available too. Super crew. Good hours. Good addition to the neighborhood. Update-The deli is always busy. Foods cooked on-site. Using items from the store to create. Please be aware that Consistency, Consistency, Consistency on food prep and seasoning. Create or use a recipe that everyone can follow ensuring foods are consistent in flavor, visually appealing, good aromas. Taste your foods during the process. Adds to the Consistency.
