Oh Lantana Fitness, since you'd like to argue your point below.. I paid your little $100 bill and removed my review bc it just wasn't worth it. However I realize people have a right to know what kind of service they are signing up for so you can try to lie on my original review but people need to know what kind of gym they are joining. To sum it up, this a small gym, who could use newer equipment and more cleaner areas. My suggestion is to do a "free" week trial before joining, you will learn its not truly a free week... If you had a better experience with this gym and like it- awesome for you! This was just my experience and do not recommend them.
Response from the owner, they put:
UPDATE Oh, Megan, do we need to go through this again? Now you say you moved 6 hours away in December. So why on January 22 did you tell us you wanted to come in? Here's your email, in case you forgot: "When are your in office. I will come up and speak with someone in person or you. I am not paying that bill so that is not an option. I will not pay for services that were never rendered .. and I will not continue to be billed even though with this email I clearly have said I do not want to continue with your gym. Let me know when is a good time come up.
Well, since we are doing "UPDATES": an update from the customer: I am guessing you don't understand people travel???
Since you seem to know more about me than I do, let me explain. I DID move, (sorry I didn't explain in great detail this) however I come back in town OFTEN and stay with family who live in Lantana and Lake Worth area so YES, I moved in December but was in Town in January (guess a girl shouldn't visit her own family) and was able to come...
Read moreI was so excited for this gym! Itâs 4 minutes from my house. I signed up, started working out and within 20 minutes I decided to leave and end my membership. Pretty vaulted ceilings, nice lighting- very small gym. Outdated- but that wasnât a factor to me. Two cable machines, one is half functional. Mind you, this is my FIRST day as I just spent over $100 on their initial membership. I was approached by one of the male owners about my shoes, âfor next timeâ no problem. Thirty seconds later, a woman owner approaches me and asks if I could change them now. I declined, as I didnât have anything else with me. Believe it or not, proper gym attire was only on their mind for me? Considering a man with tight jeans with holes, hanging off of his waist, approached me, asked what I was working out and STARTED DOING THE SAME THING NEXT TO ME đ I immediately left, I was in shock. It was by far the weirdest gym experience of my entire life. This gym offers free classes and training with your membership, thatâs amazing! But for me? I was overwhelmed and my workout was constantly interrupted. If youâre looking for more of a spacious gym with less of a micro managing feel, this isnât for you. I felt bad leaving this review but I think about this experience every day nearly two...
Read moreIâve been a member here for about 3â5 years, starting with the prior owners and continuing after the new ones took over. My card gets charged every single month without fail, but the one month I finally come back, thereâs suddenly a âpayment issueâ and my access is denied.
Nobody reached out to me about it â no call, no email, nothing. When I called the number listed for help, all I got was a âhey, you canât get in, it says deniedâ response. No solutions, no follow-up, just confirming the obvious.
When I called to talk to the staff, Dawn immediately corrected me for calling her âdearâ instead of âDawn,â and Kimon decided to make a sarcastic remark about my card being stolen. Not once did anyone ask if I had a new card or if I wanted to take care of the payment right then and there. Thatâs the strangest part â they seemed more interested in attitude than actually resolving the problem. And offering a free month to counter âthis guys attitudeâ
After years of being a loyal member, this was a complete letdown. Poor communication, zero customer service, and a total lack of professionalism.
As Warren Buffett said: âIt takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it.â
