My girlfriend and I had dinner at Lantern Local Tavern for the first time last Monday. As we walked in we we greeted warmly by staff behind the counter. We were asked if we wanted to eat in the dining room or sit at the bar. We opted for the dining room which was completely renovated from when Pearl's was open. Our server was Shannon who offered excellent service and really made us feel at home. We started with glasses of wine which were part of their happy hour. I ordered the steak tips, mashed potatos, and carrots. The steak was juicy, tender, and was bursting with flavor. The carrots were firm and not overcooked. It was obvious they were fresh. The mashed potatos were nothing short of dreamy. I couldn't have made homemade mashed potatoes any better; they were that good! My girlfriend ordered grilled salmon which had diced tomatos, Kalamata olives, feta, and garlic herbed rice. We finished the meal with more wine and shared a piece of cinnamon toast crunch pie that we can't stop talking about. I had high hopes for The Lantern Local Tavern being an enormous fan of the owner's other restaurant in Lake Worth Beach. We absolutely loved the food, the service, and the cozy atmosphere. I hear they have incredible chicken wings, homemade donuts served during breakfast, and many other items. We are planning our next visit and look forward to trying out other items. We have little doubt that we will love everything on the menu ❤️

I came with a friend for the first time this past Monday ( 2/5 ) and after viewing the menu, opted to have the daily special, the meatloaf. We both decided to have it served with the mashed potatoes. The meatloaf and mashed potatoes were a 5. The only reason I rated them a 4 was because of the warmth. Both were at best just warm. If hot, they were both a solid 5. Because of there specials, I decided to return on Friday (2/9) with my friend Anne, a wonderful older friend and we went for the daily special, baby back ribs with side, a FULL rack, $15. I, again, had it with the mashed potatoes (red skin potatoes, partially mashed ie: lumps and my friend got coleslaw. Both meals were a solid 5. And, we got excellent service from our waitress, Judy, who even brought my friend "simple syrup" for her ice tea. A step above any other restaurants I amso want to recognize Eric. A great guy, very personable and went out if his way to help us sign up for the "rewards program ". An asset to The Lantern. Give The Lantern a try. You will not regret it. 5/16. Again had the rib special. 5 stars, pork snitzel, another 5 stars and fish and chips. Again a 5!

Had this place recommended to me by a local so I decided to go check it out. They told me the food was fantastic .. Boy was I disappointed. Ordered their Friday special of a full rack of ribs with a side salad. Salad came out with frozen croutons. Ribs came out immediately afterwards, smothered in a "not so tasty" (to put it politely) barbecue sauce. Couldn't make it through one rib without returning them. Waitress came back and handed me a bill for $11.00 for the side salad and soda, as if it were my fault I didn't like the ribs. No apologies. So I left out of $14 and still hungry. The atmosphere is dark and noisy with music playing loudly out of one speaker at the side of the bar. It promotes itself as somewhat of a sports bar, home to Buffalo Bill's fans, but I had to request they put on the MLB playoff game already in progress on one of their televisions. Once again, I left extremely disappointed. Don't know if I'd give them another chance.

Wanna love it....I WANT TO. Fan of Lilos (they have connection...and I had similar issues with opening weekend at lilos but worse) love Lantana and love local small biz. I'm gonna blame my review on opening blues. Waiter was flustered and had to repeatedly ask us for our orders. Some of what we ordered was already gone for the evening but I think that should be made known before we order and wait for it. Wings....texture was good but flavor was off. Got 6 garlic parm...they were fine but the following 6 mango habenero tasted like there was nothing on them? When I asked the waiter he just shrugged it off and said it's what he conveyed to cook. I arrived on an ebike. There was no bike parking/rack so I locked it to a bus station a bit away and it felt sketchy. It wasn't a huge deal but I mentioned it to the owner's father who temporarily tended to us. He originally gave us menus but didnt continue to service us. He also looked flustered and he walked away from me mid sentence. Just suggesting that a bike rack might be helpful. My friends got the hanger steak and porkchop...they said it was good but mashed potatoes were lackluster. We had to repeatedly ask for things that should be assumed, ketchup, salt, pepper and before we were done with the meal the waiter asked us if he could take the salt and pepper for another table? Perhaps have more than one set on hand? The waiter asked about our experience at the end and I said it was different than I was expecting and he just turned and walked away...I think if there was less indifference, I could let the food slide? Again, opening weekend stuff. I'll try again but probably not...

I would give them zero stars if I could. I decided to give them a try to support local restaurants. I walked in and they have a bar with torn seats right in front of the kitchen. The food smell was so strong I asked to be moved to the inside restaurant/ bar. I was directed to a high top and waited over 15 minutes to get someone to come over and take my order. I asked the bar tender if I could place an order and she told me she didn’t do that. She got a waitress to come take my order and the food came out fast. I had breakfast so it was average. I’ll go back to Kona…way better!

So there is that. I finished my breakfast and mimosa, and the waitress was nowhere to be found. The place was empty by the way. I wanted another mimosa so I got up to order and pay at the bar for the drink. Before I placed the order this guy walked by the table and asked if I was done and ready for my check. He took the plate and did not bother to ask if I wanted anything else. I finish my second mimosa and finally the waitress shows up! She gave me the bill and took off again. So I wasn’t about to spend another minute there so I brought the check to her so I could get out. Horrible service!!!! Will never be back. By the way the charged me extra for bread that was supposed to come with the meal, and check your checks because they charge...
