I was sadly disappointed in the customer service at this location. (if only I knew his name) I recently purchased a headset at the Clearwater location; however, decided to return them and/or swap them out for a different pair. As I was at Largo Mall, I decided to run into Game Stop for the return and/or exchange. While in line, the employee was telling the customer in front of me how he only made a .13 cent raise this past year and if it happens again this year, he's marching to corporate. (completely inappropriate especially seeing how uncomfortable the customer was.) Then he calls me up. I tell him I want to return the head phones, which clearly irritated him. After answering his question, "did you buy these from this store," he then goes on a rant of how unfair it is for his store to take the "hit" for the return when I bought them at a different store. As I did have intentions of potentially swapping them out, his attitude quickly changed my mind. So after hearing how unfair I'm treating his store, I asked him, "So you can't do the return?" He said, "yes, but it's really not fair to us, it makes no sense, you should return them at the store you bought them at." At that point, I was beyond embarrassed considering the people in line could hear them argument about a return. At that point, I grabbed the receipt and said, " thanks for the help, I really appreciate it." He never once realized how rude or inappropriate he was because as I exited the store, I received a " HAVE A NICE DAY, SIR"... talk about sarcasm to the purest. Regardless, this was a HORRIBLE and embarrassing experience. To the management of this store, I highly doubt this is the 1st time you're hearing this type of story. Good luck, I won't be back and have gladly and will continue to share this experience...
Read moreGamestop PowerUp Rewards is force fed to the consumer as a "too good to pass up" value proposition of $15 up front for a year of $5 a month coupons that can be used on anything plus even more money back through rewards points accumulated on each purchase, however, upon initial impressions I've found the account and membership to be clumsy and overly strenuous to navigate and can't even complete the simplest of tasks such as using points to redeem a $10 in store credit coupon. Even being instructed step-by-step by the staff to redeem an in-store $10 coupon reward, the account failed to process the redemption at the check-out and so I was instructed to "figure it out later" by holding onto the receipt and getting my money refunded another time when the account can process the redemption because "maybe the servers are just overloaded right now" but when I went to log back into my account using the password I know to be valid I was locked out of the account and asked to "try again later" therefore rendering my points worthless and $15 wasted so far. I assume the navigation of this redemption process is made intentionally frustrating to give the consumer the illusion of value but inevitable making them give up on the whole thing soon after and just cutting their losses, therefore making GamesStop $15 richer without delivering an ounce of value. I hope I can overcome this hurdle and figure out how to crack the system in the coming weeks to get something out of the service, especially before the company inevitable...
Read moreA experience for the record books on 3/15/2024. Spent 20+ minutes in line waiting for the cashier to stop talking about some Jurassic Park game where he masterfully created âornate and stunning Jurassic park landscapesâ that made him a popular streamer. I learned all about which dinosaurs are super strong and which ones to avoid while he checked out an entire two customers in 20+ minutes and carried on this absurd nerd conversation. In that time there were at 8-10 other people who formed a line behind me who were also forced to learn a lot about the cashierâs Dino nerd kingdom, strategies, and invaluable opinions. When it was my turn he was rude and did little to help me. This is likely because I was visibly irritated by his limited work ethic and absolute disregard of his customers time. This clown gives all dinosaurs a bad name. The real Jurassic Park wouldnât let him manage a popsicle stand let alone ârun a magnificent dinosaur parkâ. Left after 20+ minutes without any assistance and without the game I came to get. Wonât be returning and Iâm shorting the stock effective...
